Ban Appeal - Multi-keying

Post by Rocks4Free » 26 Jul 2015, 19:32

Beyond ID: Rocks4Free

Character name: N/A

Admin who banned you: Host

Initial duration: Permanent

Duration remaining: Permanent

Reason for ban: Banned by host: 7MAY2015 You have been banned as a multi-keyer. This is a sticky-ban and can only be removed by the Host.

Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots):
No clue why I was banned. I played this server once a while ago, and I decided to check it out today. I don't multi-key, but I do have a brother who plays SS13 under the ckey "gorilianair". I'm asking to be unbanned because this sounds like a cool server, and I'm not sure why a ban was applied to me in the first place. Thanks for taking the time to read my ban appeal.

EDIT: Fixed the spelling of my brother's ckey. Whoops.

I started playing SS13 in January this year, and no, I have not used an alternate account in that time.

I'm not buying it. Real brothers would say they were brothers after a day they were banned. Not whole 2-3 months.

I'm not saying that my brother did anything, I'm just saying I have one incase it's necessary information. I'm hoping that this was just a simple mix up and nothing else. The picture may be coming~

I can confirm this is this players main account... If they haven't ever been active on the server it may gave some substance their case.

Yeah I had never heard of you. And multikey is still a big offense regardless of if it was someone else who got you banned or not.

My brother said he's never actually played on the server, so I don't even know anymore. Either way, I'll try to prove the existence of my brother, I guess.

Here's a picture of me and my brother, to give my story some credibility:
► Show Spoiler
(Paper bags drawn on for privacy and comedic effect)

I'm not saying that my brother or I did anything to break the rules, just showing you guys that I'm not lying.

EDIT: Re-drew the paper bag things a bit so that you can see there IS indeed a human being under the one on the right.

But I mean, it's kind of pointless anyways because you could just ask your friend to help you out and no one would know the difference.

Honestly, this is going to come down to SAS or Apop's decisions unless some kind of knowledge regarding your ban pops up.
TBH I wouldn't go through that much trouble to lie, and we have to respect if they want to remain anonymous. Privacy on the internet and all. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here.

Are you using TOR or a similar VPN system?

Your IP, is a match to a SEVERE multikeyer, who attempted to multikey with around 13 different accounts.

I've never worked with my IP or anything, so I would have to say no to a VPN. That is, I've never worked with a VPN on my own computer, but someone else on my connection like my brother may have. I don't know a lot about IPs, but I read some of the basic stuff. Could someone tell me this multikeyer's past ckeys, incase I recognise any of them? I don't know why my IP would be a match, and I would really like to play here.

That... wouldn't cause a multikeying ban. Multikeying means using multiple ckeys, and joining with the same ckey twice on accident cancels one of the connections anyway.

I can not really confirm much here without the assistance of Apop here and I leave this up to his judgement.

I've decided to lift this. But, know that if there are shenanigans I'll assume you are the hacker and you will be dealt with accordingly.

Thanks! I hope nothing else comes up, so I won't be trying to break any rules here.

EDIT: Still unable to get on. Is the ban not lifted yet, or did something go wrong?
