CM Version (alpha or Regular): Alpha
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Allow engineers to repair helmets using a welder.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Field repairs, yay.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Have it take something like ten to twenty seconds to repair, and cost maybe 5 or so welding fuel. Welders hold 20 by default. Suggestions on more balance mechanics are appreciated.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Code
ALPHA Repair marine helmets with welder

-1 It's hard as hell to infect marines now and this was actually a newly added feature to the Alpha.
Where having a hard enough time to get marines to bring back infected marines right now.

+1, Nice balance and good idea, helmets are not infinite in the alpha.
Edit: You can order armour crates, so -1.

Re: ALPHA Repair marine helmets with welder
I never play as alien so I don't know how hard they've got it and I've been a marine only one time on the alpha so I can't give input on how much of a struggle is made between the two.
I can fairly say though that this isn't the best of ideas.
It's bad enough already that some marines like to carry around helmets specifically in their backpack like it's a normal everyday thing.

How does a welder fix them? These things probably aren't made of steel you know, we're far into the future here.
Also, unless you have two huggers, marines are hard as fuck to capture now because they can pick up the helmet and put it right back on.

Helmets are technically infinite, You can order armor crates at requisitions. No reason to make it even harder on the aliens.

Denied for now.
If necessary, we'll adjust it in the future, to work with nano-paste.
