Redesign the prep area's a tad
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Since the addition of marine wear into vending machines the separate rooms for each of the squads seems even more useless than ever. So I propose that the squad prep area gets changed a tad.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Will generally improve RP by having squad members actually get ready together, and use more of the sulaco. It'll also increase the speed at which everyone gets ready.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
So my main idea is to take the lockers out of the prep area's entirely and replace them with vending machines; there's no point in having the lockers when you can just waltz up to a vending machine and pop out all your gear from it instead. I also say rename the "marine standard prep" (or whatever it is) to just "squad gear" and put the vending machines that contain the standard marine gear in there; this way all of the squad can walk into their designated role's room, get their roles gear, and then go into the squad gear room to get the rest of their guns and such.
Building off of the last idea, I also say get rid of all the vending machines in the front. My reason for this is to prevent people like medics from easily coming in and pickup up a weapon that they shouldn't even be carrying in the first place. Instead, these vending machines should be moved into the sulaco's armory area where all the spare guns and such are kept for emergencies. This will make it so that if anyone who isn't a marine wants a gun, they've gotta go through the command staff first. Getting rid of the vending machines in the front will also make it to where squad's will actually prepare together rather than wait in the line outside of their designated prep areas yelling at the guy who's taking too long. This will, obviously, also prevent marines from constantly getting into fights with each other in the lines that form around the vending machines.
Now with all the lockers replaced with vending machines it's easier to fill them up with say 99 of everything (for example) to insure they'll never run out because of a greedy marine or something similar. The vending machines will also take up less space than the lockers because you only need a few of them per squad prep to make sure that everything goes smoothly.
My last suggestion is a little unrelated, but still important. Give the MP's access to the individual prep areas from the get go. This way they can immediately respond to any shenanigans that happen inside the prep rooms.
One last thing, if you like the lockers being there because it helps your immersion or something then I say just reskin some of the vending machines as lockers to keep the feel of digging through a locker. Then they'll take up even less space and look better too.

Agreed the preps do need a change.
The Mp's should really get more access in general so they can catch criminal scum.

+1 on both suggestions. Vendors make for more interaction and less chaos.

Here's a quick design I thought of. The green square represents a ladder between the two.

That would be pretty cool but maybe add more ladders as there are normally loads of people in squad's at peak times.

Two floors and one corridor? Pretty cool, also time for gossip and some elbows and assholes to connect. /\_/\

IDK, I like the "same-floor" prep setup.
Something does need to be adjusted though...

Sulaco could still be adjusted. Especially since the sulaco is universal now, making it the best it can be is pretty important.

But SPC, engie, medic and SL areas would be still separated?

I currently already like our prep, but I don't mind it being changed.

Re: Redesign the prep area's a tad
The medic, engie, and other such areas will still be separated by a door, but the vending machine inside there will simply have their specific gear. This could help prevent a squad engineer from taking everything because you can fill the machine with more than they can carry.
The suggestion is mainly to optimize the squad prep area. Instead of being this large waste of space, it'll be a condensed area that allows marines to get in and get out quick. Makes more sense too; a ship wouldn't have a super large area, it'd minimize as much space used as possible.

Re: Redesign the prep area's a tad
Okay, let's be real here... We can talk all we want about how adding or changing something will "increase RP"... That's nice and all, but a couple rounds on the server reveals low RP to begin with, it seems most of the playerbase is more interested in the run-and-gun, KILL ALL SONS OF BITCHES mentality. And that's fine, nothing wrong with that. RP just doesn't seem to be on the list of priorities for most of the players. Making a change with the specific reason to 'increase RP' is... kinda dumb since it won't really result in an increase of RP.
Now with that out of the way, I wouldn't be opposed to changing things up a bit to make it a bit more efficient.

+1 on changing prep rooms up. It works well as it is, but it always could be improved. imho I like the 2 floor design, but I understand how it could become an issue.
