Fixing the problem with B12 helmets and B18 helmets being useless, helmet repairs.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Well, I get tired of seeing squad leaders, whenever playing one, and other people as such, with B18 helmets and B12's with their cams becoming useless for protection, and overwatch becoming a meaningless option to use, as the squad leader is weaker than the rest of his squad and seems useless to work as a soldier with his cam-helmet, so my idea is to have nanopaste, as a repairing tool, you would need to use nanopaste, and a welding tool, nanopaste normally to fix it, and a welding tool to heat it up and advance a heating process as well to possibly change the chemistry back into metal instead of a paste, hardening it.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It'd make squad leaders, and helmets as a whole, alot better, instead of the whole ship running out of helmets COMPLETELY these troops could have their helmets repaired, would help with helmet use, making them less useless, and help with the economy on these.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Well, it would work easily, you'd need to put the helmet on a table, apply the nanopaste which would be like a surgical step is. "You begin to apply nanopaste to the helmet, filling the cracks, and filling the missing areas" the second step would be to grab a welder, turn it on, and use it on the helmet "The nanopaste begins bubbling and boiling as its chemistry changes from a paste to a solid, repairing the cracks in the helmet as the nanites turn back to their base element" that simple, helmet repaired, brand new

Well, this could be easily done by saying that normal helmets are made out of a cheaper form of metal that wont mend easy with the nanopaste, so M10 helmets wont mend "You heat the paste, but it doesn't mend, producing pieces of metal that shortly fall back out of the cracks in the helmet onto the floor" so only B12, and B18 helmets are considered made out of the 'better quality metal' that the paste will mend with them, and repair the helmet.

+1 B18 helmets are still damn good even when busted, so good that I usually don't replace it if I can grab it in time. Even better if they could be repaired like they should.

The whole point of Helmet's cracking was because in the old version your helmet simply "disappeared" and you were left with nothing. Now at least when it's cracked it still offer's protection from bullets, just not facehuggers.

We had a issue in the past with balance regarding helmet's and allowing people to repair helmet's would seriously effect game-play.
You can order new helmet's and CAM-Helmet's from cargo... you can also send a marine to get some more helmet's on Sulaco and leave them in the FOB for use.

I think repairing the cam-helmets is needed simply because they're a lot harder to replace. Not every marine has a cam helmet either, only like 1 in 30.

B18 should be repairable, even if it now only blocked one hugger. Simply because, it's a specialist item.

I prefer only B18 to be repaired. We have "SL armor crate" in Requisitions to order. So SL's helmets are pretty easy to replace. But Specialists with B18 definitely need to be able to repair their helmet.

Not both imo. Just the SL helmet because it's generally harder to get a hold of and can be a major problem when in shortage.

The only trouble I see is that now nanopaste becomes the hold-up. Is this stuff somehow common? I would rather the helmet be repaired by something more common, like the engineer tools. Some sort of quick multi-step repair might go like this:

screwdriver (You loosen the helmet's camera.)
metal rod (You ready metal to be welded.)
welder (You weld in the cracks on the helmet.)
screwdriver (You mount the camera in place.)

So now we have a quick process needing an Engineer or scavenged tools that may cause eye damage if being done by said scavenger.

I think we should just move the SL's Camera onto their armour, mainly so that while they get to keep their more robust helmet (two facehugger blocks instead of one) but they are not 100% reliant on keeping the helmet for overwatch.

I think the B18 helms needs to be fixable since there's no other way to get a new one, and that having to discard your B18 helm for a new but standard issue helm means your throwing away your extremely robust defence.

Ehm... Only B18 should be repairable. Order SL's armor crate - 10 seconds. And 2:00 takes to deliver it wherever SL needs.

I think it would be acceptable if the way to fix helmets was only on the Sulaco. So you'd have to return to base if you wanted armor repairs

+1 if the helmets are made less robust with each fix. A repaired helmet can only block a single hugger. Standard-helmets disintegrate if someone attempts to repair the crappy metal thing.

The B18 main idea and only purpose is to take more huggers, repairing it if it only gives 1 hugger protection is the same as getting a marine helmet, stick to the OP.
