Immoble Queen Form
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Immoble Queen. Yes, remember the old forums? This was pretty hot shit, not sure what ever happened to it. Basically, a queen can enter a state of being immoble so it can lay eggs and secrete resin with less plasma and in a blob like form. Of course, it comes with downsides, it takes two minutes to get in and two minutes to get out, and you are incredibly weak and have access to none of your abilities.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It's canonical, it would be fun for ayyliens and make some better hives that I'd like to see, and balance.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): See above.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): N/A

Re: Immoble Queen Form
I'm somewhat confused. It would take two minutes to transform into a state where they can't move, just so they can place one egg OR one resin structure down?
TLDR: Go back and read it. I spent time writing that, ya know.

I remember seeing a spirte posted in OOC a while back of a queen with an ovipositor. Sooo... there's something floating around out there already for this, somewhere.

See this made more sense in canon where the aliens move the eggs after it lays them.
Also it takes them like 10 seconds to rip their way out of the egg thing.

+1 If it can be implemented correctly...
Maybe have an increased range for egg laying? Like... A vastly increased range? Then it'd actually be worth it, and it would also provide an extra incentive for the Queen to stay IN the hive, rather than run around and sometimes get herself killed. Or, if Xeno's can get the ability to move eggs that would fix one of the issues, probably.

Two minutes is a bit much but definitely +1 to the idea.
If that made every one of the queen's resources a mobile object, then that would give drones a whole new job of attending the queen and handling her resources. Perhaps she could also gain a bonus to plasma regeneration?

No, moving eggs is too much. If implement this, than, Queen should be like Blob with possibility to move camera in some area, like, ten tiles in each direction. And in that area it can lay eggs.Wickedtemp wrote:+1 If it can be implemented correctly...

The eggs would need to come out fully grown if it takes TWO FUCKING MINUTES to get into the form.
Also it should take like five seconds to get out of it. Alien Queen in the movies can tear her way out right quick.

I'm agreeing with both of those statements. Or, at least, the eggs should come out halfway grown. As for getting out of the immobile form, yes, it shouldn't take two minutes to get out of it. Else you'll have a marine walk up to the immobile Queen and stab them to death before they can even do anything.

Re: Immoble Queen Form
i would say she can lay eggs two tiles around her sprite and she has extremely buffed damage resistance, plus her screech should also be buffed from this

Considering the amount of time it would take to get into this position, the range would need to be greater, or Drones would have to be able to move the eggs. Yes to the screech buff.Heinrick Archsider wrote:i would say she can lay eggs two tiles around her sprite and she has extremely buffed damage resistance, plus her screech should also be buffed from this
Or, alternative... The eggs the Queen lays in this position can be picked up like items and 'planted' on weeds. Once they're planted, however, they are stuck on that tile.

That's good idea, and make sense. But only drones should be able to do this.Wickedtemp wrote:Or, alternative... The eggs the Queen lays in this position can be picked up like items and 'planted' on weeds. Once they're planted, however, they are stuck on that tile.

Re: Immoble Queen Form
She gets buffed with extra armor, improved screech knockdown and can tear her way out of it really quick at the cost of HP.
She can lay eggs (fully grown) WITHINT two tiles of her rear.
Eggs plasma cost moved from 75 to 200.
Aliens can have instant huggers now, rejoice.

I like all the buzz around this, and I said like a blob. So an incredibly long range of egg planting.

Unless you're boosting her plasma regen, Caryl, that makes egg laying SLOWER.
