Good RP tab

[/mod][/mod]Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): having a tab like "suggestions" where people can go on and list a characters name and Byond key (if known) and tell of their good RP in a given situation

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It will encourage better RP, and reward frequently good role-players ((whether that is just from being acknowledged or whether some actual rewards are to be given))

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): The tab would be very similar to reporting players, you give their name, some of the logs, and give praise to the good RP. I was thinking about a reward system, where if they get 5 players saying they had good RP (from different players) they would get some kind of reward. However as the server needs donations it would have to be a small one, such as being a predator once, or Ripley in an event. Also to avoid bad RP getting someone a reward people could vote on whether or not it was good RP with the +1 -1 system.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Either way it is to be implemented, getting small one round rewards based on a few posts and votes, or just a section where people go on the give compliments and constructive criticism on each-others RP, I think it would help promote RP, and compliments. (both good things)

Better do that on forum, not in game. On forum it will be much easier to implement.

This seems very reminiscent of paradises Karma system where players award others points for good rp.

Sounds like the karma system on paradise, they encouraged rp with getting points for getting rp to unlock certain jobs, but yea it was fun. +1

I can definitely see this getting a +1 from me. I constantly do my best for good RP, but I just know how this game should be played. How the game *should* be played isn't much incentive for other people, though, and the result of that is easy to see. So yeah.

An ingame button where you could take a player online by their character name and give them kudos for having good RP.

Personally I think this would lead to stupid kneejerky trolling and QQing like any Xbox live inbox ever, but.

Well the way paradise station has it set up, not sure if people want it like that, but the way they do it is that you get a point every round and if you see someone who is roleplaying well or doing a great job in their job or whatever, you can award them a point. This point can then be used to unlock different species like a IPC or the squishy people, can't remember the name fully as well as jobs like a bodyguard for the captain (blueshield) or a security pod pilot and such. So I don't know if you would want to include in game rewards with the system, or just allow players to donate their point for seeing good roleplaying. It has a little verb for in game where you can select someone's name from the list.

Edit: It can be a little hard because I know a few people just had their friends give them points and although they say they will ban or remove all your karma points for doing that, sort of happens still, but I digress.

Sounds like what you may be thinking of is Karma system like how Paradise has? Although you can make the point worth nothing here instead of buying stuff, then no reason for people to game the system?

I would love to see a competition to see who has good RP and henceforth a leaderboard on the server which will excite people for a competition as well as gives new people a chance to be recognized by the staffs and Unknown Salvation's Army.

I think I could +1 this, even if Apop already said it's not likely to be done. It's just good sense to know who is a good roleplayer on a roleplaying game, helps me keep away from the people who just want to pew pew everyone.

Could help with picking mentors. Like an upvoting system.

My worry, is people who just vote for the same person every round, or vote-trading.

... How about you add the ability for players to give 'notes' to each other, the notes would have the date/time and why the recipient is being commended. This way, if they don't have a reason, admins can look at it and know it was given for a BS reason.
