Research expansion. and alien research.

So i had a dream last night just before i woke up. and it was about these changes to the researcher in the game.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Add the ability for the researcher to have more things to do with the alien corpses among other things. all the research would be expensive materials wise and all the aliens research would be really late game. and used to prevent turtling rounds that can go up to four hours long.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):Giving the researcher a real job and more to do. and hopefully reduce turtling on both sides due to the presence of powerfull late game items

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

1. The basics first.

1/5.Custom rockets. the researcher should be able to decon a rocket. in order to be able to produce a rocket case, this rocket casing would be able to hold 3-4 containers of chemicals. you would have to create a part from the protolathe called the impact detonator. and create a propellant from some kind of a chemical mix. and put it in a propellant container(made in protolathe). first you would screw the warhead open. then add the containers, then you would add wires and the detonator and screw it back closed. you then place the propellant it. and finish it by using a screwdriver.

2/5. Motion detectors. casing is produced in the protolathe. you add some wires, then a proxy sensor, power cell(determines how long it lasts), a capacitor(determines range), and an anyliser, each part would be screwed in place and then you add a console screen, and finish it with glass.

3/5. Removal of the unnecessary stuff from the protolathe. any unnecessary things like that chameleon suit and things that are remnants from the bay code and don't have a place on a military ship should be removed.

4/5. Addition of improved guns that can be produced in the protolathe by getting research from deconing guns, the ammo for these guns would also be produced here. Guns such as the desert eagle (would have increased damage and ammo over the revolver). The M5a2 burst rifle. the burst rifle would be a highly accurate weapon that fires in bursts of highly damaging bullets(stronger than the m4)it would have a brief cool-down between bursts and only 21 bullets in the clip.. and the m40 smg. an improved version of the m39 in every way. and the ability at high levels of weapons research to produce smart guns and snipers aswell as the specialist Armour.

5/5 Addition of materials to cargo that the researcher can beg for.

2. The more advanced Stuff. More specifically the alien research. the ability would be added to decon tier one aliens in the deconstructor.

Alien Research.

The deconstruction of tier one aliens would allow the researcher to produce acid resistant surgical tools and a wall/Armour coating(the resistant coating is not proof, not immune to acid. it would just take a longer time to melt a wall with this stuff on it and makes a marine resistant to spat acid.)

The specialized surgical tools. the acid resistant surgical tools would be resistant to an aliens acid and thus able to be used to cut them open and apart for organs Armour plates and other things. the armour plates and organs,n,shit can be deconstructed for research into more items.

With enough research you can produce ammo for all the guns that does improved damage against heavily armored aliens (cp or chitin penetrating would have an easier time getting through tier 3 aliens armour)

Improved Armour. An improved Armour called C1 based on an aliens chitin it is stronger than regular marine Armour.

H.I.S. Armour, the hive infiltration suit. would be an really expensive suit of Armour with belt and backpack that makes you look exactly like a tier 1/2 alien this Armour would be absurdly expensive and the highest tier of research but the Armour would be as strong as the specialist's Armour. this Armour would give you a random numbered alien name tag when you wear it to fool the aliens and infiltrate their hive. or you could just use it as an attempt to survive the alien siege of the sulaco.



Predator research. if you somehow manage to get a hold of a predators equipment and give it to the researcher. it will open a tier of extremely expensive and strong weapons and Armour.

i don't really have any other ideas for this so post it in the comments.

Something is in the works from the dev team I believe but this is alright but I'll be neutral.

+1 I agree with most stuff. But the armour thing is debatable. And I would like to see a secure pen for alive aliens to be added.

This reminds me a bit about XCOM research where you could chose to research into a specific alien species to get a slight damage boost to them.

Having actual research that's tailored to Aliens would be a good addition.

I don't get why a military vessel has a research division, though.

eh who knows what a military vessel would need. a researcher to produce explosives and shit is pretty usefull. also BOOP!.
