Dea Tacita - Moderator Application
Byond ID: Dea Tacita
Colonial Marines Character: Siw Haakonsson
Age: 30
Gender: F
Timezone: UTC +2
On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate? 3-20, Depending on the week and how i feel physically and mentally.
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? On SS-13 Alone, I have experience moderating for numerous Heavy RP servers (Most of which no-longer Exist) including Apollo(Original for a small amount of time), Athena, Minerva, Janus, Aurora etc.
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? Can't say that I have
Have you had an application to Colonial Marines or New Eden denied before? Nope
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where? I am a Retired-admin on Aurora, but I'm not sure if that counts.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? Nope
If a player was shooting everyone in briefing at round start how would you deal with the situation? I'm guesstimating at the level of abilities that Mods here have (Due to it varying from server to server) but I'd likely use mod-abilities to wind him, question the individual to see if there was any RP reasoning for this (If It's been long enough for any RP to happen, question is vague), ask one or two other nearby players to see if they can collaborate any claim to RP, and then either warn them to take a less destructive path of RP (If RP was involved), or likely issue a ban after consulting with other online staff (If available) to determine what length would be fair. (Probably a 3-day, if repeated up to perm) Accompanied of-course by an addition to their player-notes detailing the incident.
You notice that a xeno is breaching the Nostromo and is unable to seal it with resin. How would you deal with this and what punishment would you give for a first offender? I would first consult the individual to determine whether or not it was an accident, if unintentional I would remind the individual in a friendly tone that space-walking is discouraged by server rules, if intentional I would inform the individual of the rule, remind them that ignorance is no excuse for breaking server rules and warn them, followed by adding a note to their Player-panel and requesting a member of staff with Build-mode permissions fill in the breach.
The marines want the nuke codes to detonate the Nostromo because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who. What do you do?
Contact the Marines with an IC excuse for the nuclear codes not to be given, likely revolving around the worth of the facility to Weyland-Yutani, and something about sensors detecting a numerical superiority in human-xeno life-signs. If the game drags on continuously to the point of no-longer being entertaining, I would respond to any request by Heads of staff for the nuke codes, with said codes in-order to keep the game fun, and prevent it from becoming stale via a round dragging along when it is no-longer entertaining.
A Sulaco Medic has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online. What do you do? I would wind the individual, PM him/her and ask them why they just did that, add the appropriate notes to their panel and issue a warning if it is their first offense, or a 1-3 day ban if they had any notes related to griefing.
What would you do if a player started to talk about the things he did to your mom last night? Other than internally question the individual's tastes due to my mother being a desiccated corpse for two decades, I would warn the player against disrespecting staff, point out to them rule 8 of the Server rules, and politely end the conversation. If the inappropriate prodding continues I believe a day ban would be in order.
Any additional information you'd like to add? Several things actually, I realize I have a basically non-existent post-count on the forums, which i attribute to me mainly lurking on the forums without posting, and that I will make a more significant attempt at being involved in the community.. Another thing to note is that I have a debilitating medical condition that can cause some minor memory issues from time-to-time (Nothing major as of yet), and that this condition will cause me to abruptly vanish at the end of December. While I realize that this is a relatively short span of time, I have come to enjoy my time on CM rather significantly, and during said time I have noticed that with a player-count of 60-70 people sometimes you'll only have a single staff-member on, and I believe that I could be at-least a minor help to your staff during the little time left that I will spend here. Thanks for reading!

+1 on my end. Dea has shown to be a competent staff member, particularly on Aurora. They were level-headed, calm and concise with their judgments as an admin.
They've logged significant amounts of playtime on this server, though they've mostly kept their head down. I've never seen activity become a problem from them.

The answers were rather good, but this memory thing and activity does concern me. Although I have played with you maybe one time, an exceptional time, you were a great player, followed da rulez and never disobeyed the SLs orders.
My thoughts are, keep up the work you do on the server, make your name known, then continue.
Neutral.

Low activity, good answers though.
1138 is quite competent so I trust his judgement.
Neutral on this, leaning to +1 because we need Mod's though.

+1, because of previous mod experience, and good answers.
It's always rainy on Ferenginar.

Not really getting how I'm "Low Activity". I'm usually on for at least an hour every day, or at minimum every other day.Pink wrote:Low activity

I like the answers, and I'd love to have even more experienced people on the team. The post count is something I'm willing to look past this time because you actually addressed it, so I'll give a +1.

+1, saw the character in game quite a lot, levelheaded and concise. Never saw the player gone off the rocker or break character.

Decent so far. Only issue I see with this is that your post count is very low.... Neutral leaning towards +1

We require more experienced staff currently and I think you will be a great help but I want to see you active within the community more so I will stay neutral for now.

Accepted.
I talked to the Aurora staff, and they said you were very good. You'll be processed later today.
