Custom Loadout update

Post by SecretStamos (Joshuu) » 16 Aug 2015, 20:39

Hi guys!

I feel like I don't really talk to the community as much as I should, so here's a little sneak preview of something I started an hour ago.

In an effort to make Colonial Marines feel a little more realistic, we've been cleaning out the custom loadout section. To counter-act this, we're adding a bunch of USCM style hats for players to wear. They won't block any bullets or facehuggers, but they're great for wearing around the Sulaco. If you're feeling dangerous enough, you can certainly wear them into battle so long as you have a good health coverage plan.

We've also added the cigarette and cigar to the custom loadout.

Need Blue bandanas, yellow bandanas, purple bandanas. Pink banadanas. Basically all the standard color bandanas.

Just like all custom-loadout items, they're purely cosmetic at the moment.

I considered adding more colors, but having an Alpha Standard with a yellow bandana would confuse a lot of people.

Perhaps the Red Bandana was a mistake on my part.

Will they be able to block huggers in the future ?
( Maybe have it as 1 hugger and then it's completely broken or something, i don't know )
I mean i would love to wear some of this but... being lmao hugged and dragged off kind of pushes me away from the idea of looking cool in cosmetic gear over using a regular helmet.

Also what if there was a squad-colored bandana? Would that be do-able?

Squad-colors would need a bit of work for them to be viable. I'm a little too busy to handle them at the moment.

looking excellent but i feel the berets and bandannas should have more vibrant colors, most hats should be designed to stand out from your armor and not match it (it might be different if this was a suit but our combat armor isn't exactly a tux)

These are great, I think the color scheme is uniform and perfect.

Could it be possible to allow these cosmetic items to be combined with a helmet so they go on the outside of it effectively combing the two items? That way you get the cosmetic flair, but also the benefit of having a helmet.

I'd love to have a little more customization with the loadout stuff. Something to identify yourself in the battlefield. Perhaps allowing us to attach small things to your helmet would be nice.

Or even just a few more things such as attaching a flashlight to your helmet, or even something as little as variations of the marine armour.

I miss the urple beret kinda....

Also, making the headset hat actually functional, and to spawn with the authkey of their assigned squad would be bitchin'

There are actually several variations of the marine armor. Try comparing a couple sets in-game.

Are the custom items supposed to be selectable ingame yet? As I attempted to spawn with two of said items and I am now stuck with downloading resources perpetually and/or client lockups.

Custom helms please, I want something that is badass, but still protective, not vanity. Also, for the headbands, making the flashlight on it work would be nice.
