Only Hunters, Ravagers & Queen Can Slash Floodlight
Summary: My suggestion is that only Hunters, Ravagers or the Queen have the claws sharp enough to slash apart Floodlights.
Benefits: It'll increase the average life expectancy of Floodlights from the early game into the mid game. Right now Floodlights don't last long against Aliens because as soon as they turn on Aliens will quickly shut them off, making it that only a T2+ Hunter or the Queen can rend them apart will make them a more reliable resource and asset for Marines.

ehhh, i guess +1 since those lights are basically the single, only reason we have to bother getting the colony generators up but arent they immune to acid as is? you know you can fix them and get them back to working order with a few uses of your welder you know.
really thats the only reason im +1, i can understand why it would be desirable but i just dont see this as being ultra fair, you know damn well by the time ravagers get down there we'll be losing the fob as is and it doesn't make alot of sense from a lore perspective, the aliens wouldn't have the strength to smash a tiny pane of glass or plastic and fucking up a lightbulb? even if they all use LED's (which are vastly superior to regular bulbs in most all respects, durability and luminosity being two if them (and two very important ones given their purpose)) they're STILL basically just giant fuckoff flashlights, i think the aliens are mighty enough and intelligent enough to smash a tall glowy thingy.

+1 Those floodlight are not your average light bulbs, and are posted HIGHER than your T1+T2 Aliens. Therefore T3 aliens are more Overgrown that can do it.
And I heard some where that Larvae was able to hit floodlight, might be wrong, since that might mixed up.

Getting out there with a welder to fix the floodlights is simply way too dangerous late game and not worth it considering they'll just get slashed again. So some balancing could be good.

Maybe scale the amount of time it takes to slash a floodlight with the tier of the alien.

At the long-term of a round the floodlights won't matter much, as the marines are either pressing an attack on their hive or the FOB is falling apart by the constant xeno swarms. Oh, and snipers (or anyone with binoculars) would have it too easy to pinpoint a xeno's location. Not sure If I'd want that.

I'm fine with T1 and T2 slashing them. They're not slashing the lights, they're slashing the wiring at the base.

We already have a repair method for floodlights... You use a welder on them. The unfortunate thing, is that it takes quite a long time to repair them, and welder fuel can be pretty scarce on the ground. Maybe if we replaced engineer welders with industrial welders, which hold 40 units of welding fuel, instead of 20, it would be less of a hassle.

I'm ok with this if all floodlights are made slashable. It's silly that some are breakable and some just give the "it's just some wierd metal thing" message.

It's because they are 2 different types of flood-lights. Make a bug report about the others, and I'll add it to the list of bugs to fix.

Aliens aren't breaking the bulbs, they're slashing the wiring and such at the bottom, any xeno can reach that. Also they can be repaired.
