EOR Grief Ban Appeal

Post by wrestlingforme » 26 Aug 2015, 17:36

Beyond ID: wrestlingforme

Character name: Randy Cavalet

Admin who banned you: Derpislav

Initial duration: 3 hours

Duration remaining: 3 hours

Reason for ban: I was banned for EOR grief

Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots):
I didn't grief, as I simply killed my own character. If this is against the rules, I apologize, but I don't really see how it effects the round that much, and I didn't attack anyone else's character. Not only that, but I think it's a bit harsh to ban without even contacting me first, since I was not ahelped. (EDIT: Turns out he did send messages, I was wrong on this part, apologies)

I've sent at least 2 a-pm's to you, and I still have the logs. Gonna upload them there.

Can't see gyazo pictures myself so can't put it there, but here's a link.

I just saw them. Apologies, but considering the fact that there were several other instances of it, with other players being targeted, I'm not sure how I griefed, considering my actions were less severe then say attacking another player.

Although if I did misinterpret it, which I might have, I'll be happy to wait out the ban. It just depends, I'm not entirely sure.

The reason we have an "End of Round Grief" rule isn't for grief per se, it's for the massive spammy amount of attack logs that flood the screen. This is doubly problematic at the end of the round, because we're trying to wrap up any issues that cropped up, say 5 minutes before the end of round, except now we're also holding up the entire server while we work on it.
TLDR: Go back and read it. I spent time writing that, ya know.

Basically, once the round ends, anyone who's fighting anyone that isn't an antag, gets a 3 hour ban, often with no warnings (as stated in the rules).

There's 2 reasons for this:

1. To preserve the roleplay if it's going on

2. To prevent spam of attack logs. Normally, we are investigating last minute complaints or issues at the end of a round, you spamming the attack logs, makes that more difficult.
