Spawn Standard Marines With Flare Webbing

Post by Steelpoint » 27 Aug 2015, 12:28

Summary: To preserve proper webbing for more unique roles (Med, Eng, Spec, SL) I propose all Standard Marines are spawned with a Flare Webbing.

This Flare Webbing can hold a large amount of flares, I propose anywhere between five to seven flares.

Benefits: Provide a easy to hold light source for standards, as well as allow people who actually need webbing a chance to get webbing in a reasonable time frame.

-1

Why do you need webbing as a standard? Just use the backpack.

Mainly to tie into helping push Standards away from (always) getting webbing from cargo. Any other Marine side from Standards have vital need of webbing and having a webbing already for Standards might help lower their desire to get one.

That or just tell RO's to stop giving webbing to Standards.

Also it ties into most AvP games where Marines hold flares easily on their person.

E: Right now its a question of 'do I take ammo or flares' and ammo always wins. At most you'll see one or two flares on a standard.

Standards already have a shocking amount of free-slots. The RO also has the right to deny standards webbing. It's listed in the rules poster next to the RO desk.

-1 You can already have alot of flares, 3 if you don't wanna use any belt or backpack space and only one pocket, you see, the armour you are wearing can hold 2 flares.

Denied

You don't need webbing, use your backpack and belt. Webbing should be reserved for people who will need it, like engineers or medics.

Hence this suggestion to give standards fluff webbing so they don't have as much incentive to get normal webbing over anyone else.

A better solution would be to spawn needed webbing on those that need it be done with it.

Denied.

Standard marines don't need webbing, they should be able to carry MORE than enough ammo without it.
