Squad leader meta-marks

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Give the SLs a floating marker beside their icon much like Antag teams on conventional SS13 servers.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Easy organization in an unruly mob, letting you see who's the important person without memorizing subtleties in a person's kit (which might be easy for veterans, but even if it's a different outfit the rabble won't know!) and, more importantly, letting you figure out with a glance without any issues or second guessing.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Simple as a colored dot, square or whatever have in the same manner as a Syndie/Cult mark. Visible to all Sulaco crew. It likely would not be possible, or at least feasible, to change this during the round to react to promotions, but that shouldn't be an issue.

im not sure how this would be implemented without being tied into an item but overall a very decent idea, though this would need to work with replacement SL's later in the round

ahh who am i kidding, important jobs never get replaced mid game

+1, like this idea, think it'd be good for marines to see who the SL is, especially if they can't just identify from the helmet either because it's been scratched or removed. Also to identify wether people are actual SLs or just wearing the SL helmet(as CTs and ROs sometimes do).

+1, we already have some helmet-hud as we can see squad orders.

It should be quite possible to attach to the individual role at round start, though may need some extra finagling to mark a non-antag as something. Still, the code is there.

In a pinch, however, it could be a second ear item, but that'd... be visible to aliens! If it was like a balloon, anyway.

This really needs to happen . As it is, I have to scan each and every marine I encounter to identify my squad leader. That becomes a bit crazy in a firefight or when we're moving and they give orders.

+1 for squad HUD. Right now it's a mess to try to coordinate two squads in an assault since the colored helmets aren't distinctive enough when everyone's mingling together.

This might be possible to do. I'd say the easiest way, would be to just toss Security Huds to the Squad Leaders.

It'd kinda defeat the purpose, though, as then SLs would just be able to see who everyone was.

And not the squad(s) knowing where their SL was.

Suggesting that it creates a [SL] or revolutionary-based tag based on ID (i.e yellow SL for "Bravo Squad Leader") so that replacement Squad Leaders aren't filtered out.

SLs have no icon, but they do have an antenna coming out of their helmets and a humongous flashlight coming out of their armor, icons would look silly in my opinion.
