Rocket Sniper Elite Master Specialist

Post by Vinny » 02 Sep 2015, 00:38

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
The Rocket Launcher should be a two handed weapon instead of a one handed. Keep in mind i am writing this after dying as a specialist but i thought this should probally change, basically you can have binoculars in one hand and a rocket launcher in the other making you into a rocket sniper which is kinda bull for this aliens.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Fix the fact its kinda OP.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Make the rocket launcher a two handed weapon or maybe if you switch hands with the binoculars you look up.

Binoculars should be built in.

-1, due to the fact that they are currently significantly underpowered. You should /not/ have to follow up with gun fire if you hit something low tier with a rocket launcher directly. It should be dead. Anything below T3 should be dead or near dead. Especially runners, currently it's not like that. Buff it's damage, and then sure.

Wait. Does this work with other one handed weapons? If so I think this is a bug.

As I've said on similar threads the SADAR is current underpowered, thus unless it is significantly buffed then I disagree with any further nerfs to a already sub-par weapon.

Um no its not sub par. The fucking thing not only does a shit ton of damage but it also has a long ass stun so I shall +1 cause rocket spam is a thing. And the SADAR can be reloaded and fired again before the first stun wears off. I should know. It's happened to me as a t3. So again I'll give this post a +1 to stop super far rocket spams

The SADAR is one of the handful of direct counters to T3 xenos, in fact its one of two weapons in the game that can directly confront a T3 xeno on equal footing, the other being the Sniper.

I will say its main, and only, advantage at this time is its stun time. The SADAR lacks in damage (it can't even kill a Human on a direct hit) but it does, somewhat, make up for it by its stun period. If only by a bit.

Also finally, the SADAR comes with five rockets, additional rockets cost a lot of resources to order and you only get 4 rockets per crate (2 he, 2 ap), and rockets only fit in a backpack. Rockets are not something that can be liberally spammed away, because if you do you'll find yourself with few rockets. Meaning the few occasions where someone does throw a lot of rockets down ranges its for a good reason, and any alien on the receiving end of that should die.

E: The frustration to dying to a rocket can be compared to getting infected to a thrown facehugger from a carrier, or getting decapitated instantly. Its sucks but honestly shit happens.

I'm not arguing to reduce the stun time I'm arguing to not let them have sniper ability with the fucking rocket launcher that's what this is about I'm not trying to get the SADAR it's self need just the ability to use both the binoculars and the SADAR at the same time.

Yeah, the stun time caused from the blast is long enough to make any xeno get rushed and killed.

There are nerfs, and there is game logic. While I'm fully supportive of buffing AP missiles a bit, also +1 from me on two handed holding.

SADAR is now two-handed. I'm sure this topic will be moved eventually.
