Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots): I was never asked about my name. it came out of nowhere and all the sudden I was banned. im not sure what I did or what is wrong with the name but I don't feel it was fair to band me. if a admin had personally messaged me to bring this to my attention and showed me there was a problem I would of changed it as soon as I could.

And the discussion ended from there. However, here are my thoughts on this.

'Ripley Shane' is not fucking canon whatsoever here. It would've been a problem if that was a surname of a marine, but here it was clearly not the case.

I completely disagree with the banning trialmod's ruling on the matter, and I believe it went against the intent of the rule of 'no canon/lore characters' that was set in place not too long ago.

It was enforced in, quite frankly, a rather stupid manner despite the clearness of how the rule is to be interpreted, and I'm all for unbanning the OP if they were banned for this alone... However.

It will be noted that not ONCE when I looked in the logs the OP ever responded. It was rather disappointing to see the lack of communication from the OP's end to defend their case, and I will refer to the boldened line in which the OP was actually banned for.

We need to start using more common sense with these name's.

The other day someone wanted to ban someone for the name "Henry Ford", which was the founder of Ford Automobile's in the U.S. This is also a EXTREMELY common name and most people, especially those in America wouldn't even know who Henry Ford was.

Understandably Ripley is a known name in the lore.. but really wouldn't detract anything from anyone's game-play if I saw RIPLEY SHANE.

Ripley also happen's to be quite generic as well.
