Depressureization not effecting Marines.

Post by TR-BlackDragon » 10 Sep 2015, 20:23

Bug Description: Oh hey look. Marines blow up the floor of the sulaco. Creating a depressurization of the hull.. Knocks Aliens on their asses over and over again. Oh look there are 5 Marines now surrounding you and shooting your Alien ass to death with out any issues.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Have aliens around.
2.Have Marines with some kind of explosive and be on the sulaco.
3.Marines blow a hole in the floor with out it being "intentional" after a round where they used it to their advantage with no repercussions as of yet.
4. Watch as the aliens get rekt due to pressurization and humans get to walk around with no downfall and profit.

Yeah this is not a bug... Tested it in the thunderdome and they are destroyed from pressurization just as much as everyone else. If anything depressurization helps aliens due to the fact of they don't need to breathe or have pressure.. I blew a hole in the thunderdome and flew into the void and took pressure damage and O2 damage

Sas, Thats not the issue, The issue is that if they avoid going into the ACTUAL breach, They at most will get 02 damage, but it will be so little that they have PLENTY of time to get a mask and such, and at certain points it will just stop giving them 02 damage. But they will NOT get pressure damage as long as they avoid going into the void.

Ravagers are the Blue lines and the two humans were the red. THe ravagers kept falling over yet the humans did not..... and no the resin walls were not there at the time. Yet Items that are laying on the ground was being pulled towards the hole in the ground from much farther away then where the humans were. You tell me how that is not a bug

Saw the same thing in a previous round. Queen kept getting knocked over and losing her facehuggers while marines in suits were unaffected by wind and could continue shooting. This happened because a bomb blew a hole in the Sulaco stair area but somehow the wind affected aliens without affecting marines.

Just saying guys, Marines can die of lack of air and the pressure crushing them. Aliens just gotta wait them out is all.

Also, IF, /IF/, I am correct, admins got sick of aliens slipping marines and stuff, so I think the combat boots top all slipping/falling over correct?

That isn't related. The noslip tag is in regards to slippery items like soap and banana peels.

That said, it's strange. ZAS space wind seems to be knocking aliens over left and right, in a good 7-10 second intervals. A round where a charger was trying to escape tornado hell barely could get charges off half the time before falling again.

It does seem like ZAS is behaving weirdly with aliens. Especially considering there was no atmospherics running at the time whatsoever.

Were the marines on weeds? The sticky of the weeds might actually be making marine stick to floor more?

Could be related to that no-slip boots change.

It's possible. Could it be looked into cause I wouldn't bitch if it effected humans like it did aliens. Right now it's a bit one sided.

Noslip does indeed affect this, so it will have to be changed. Thanks for the bug report.
