#1: Firstly, I will say this, your Application should be around 3-4 Paragraphs Long (At Minimum, at Maximum of 8 Paragraphs cause making them too long will end with them taking to long to be read by the Administrators in charge.) in just the Background alone, inside the Background you should start with your Yautja when they were young and work them up explaining the Main Events in their life all the way up their present day while they are out on the hunt.
#2: First observe Active Yautja's as they are on the hunt ingame and then describe what you have noticed and why it's good or bad in your own opinion. This will help Admins get a feeling of what you know and determine if they believe you are capable of handling the position.
#3: You need to not only be actively playing in the Community, but you need to make yourself known. Think of if you are making an application for an Employer, you want to get recognized and stand out over everyone else. There is several ways to achieve this goal. You can either get to know the staff and do common chatter, play the game and become a very good player that's recognized by the community, or you can participate in the Forums and speak with the Community, the best way is to help give Constructive Criticism. (Now, I do have to point this out, Constructive Criticism is when you Point Out what's wrong then give help by telling them how they can improve, just going and "This is shit, terrible post, bad lore." is NOT feedback, it's shitposting and something I have discussed with Apop privately before and one of the reasons I have been more active on Predator Apps to assist with helping and got responded with, "Well then, put in your opinion yourself then, we can always use more constructive feedback to help with the players." Now I do have to say it's understandable if you don't give feedback if you don't know about them, but those of us who actually DO know about Yautja have no excuses for why they can't give decent feedback.)
#4: Don't rush your Application, be thorough about making your Application and re-read over it, we don't expect you to be doing a creative writing assignment but viewing it as making a story for your new invested character does help.
#5: Don't make some Super Powerful Yautja Elite who is the savior of their clan, don't make a drug addict Yautja, don't go about making a Murderer Yautja, try to break all stereotypes, bring interest to your story but remember that they have a set bound guideline they have to follow where they NEED to be honorable however Neutral sense Clans do clash against each other, this is about Survival and Honor for the Hunt, not about being a Hero or Villain or a God Among Yautja. Even Yautja are capable of dying and are therefor Mortal Beings, realistically they are capable of making mistakes just like any other species and trust me, no matter how Robust you are you will make mistakes because OOCly as a Human being we are Imperfect and make decisions that cause those Mistakes, accept it and work with it.
#6: A good story has the protagonist consistently facing obstacles whether it's about their mortality, their limitation or their inability to accept who they are in life, if they didn't encounter problems and didn't get hurt then the story wouldn't be interesting. Among everything you need to keep your story Interesting so before ever publishing copy and paste your Application in a text document and think over your character and who you want them to be before finding that ONE thing that makes them special and work off of it.
#7: A good way to start of with creating your characters personality for the Role-Play experience is to start with words that describe your character such as, "Honorable, Strong, Stubborn, Eager" and they don't have to exactly be positive things, they can be negative things to that they are trying to work on sense they are mortal beings. Don't worry about their faults, it's what gives them personality!
#8: Get to actually know the Yautja Lore, you will learn ALOT about them that will blow your mind, for instance wristblades alone can have 1 to 3 blades on them used to slice up their prey in combat, not only that but Elites and Elders use two wristblades on each hand, and to make things even more badass there's a fabled "Yautja Scimitar" which is a wristblade with one massive blade about 2-3 feet long like a giant sword, something used by Super Yautja's like "Celtic" from AvP and can slice a damn alien in half although terribly harms you (HIGHLY SUGGEST NOT HAVING YOUR PREDATOR WITH IT THOUGH! Only if you EARN it and then get Highermin Permission after Observation should you ever RP having one, Hell only Apophis and SAS should even have one cause they are the 2 most Robust Yautja's currently at this time.)
#9: Yautja's Young Hunters can be both Female and Male, now any Young Hunters before being sent off to hunt the Serpents AKA Aliens will normally be sent off to hunt Humans. To Yautja's Humans are the equivalent of Sport Hunting such as Deer are to Humans.
#10: Go and read the Approved Applications and what is good about them and what staff have said they liked, aswell go read the Denied Applications to see what they disliked and use the Denied ones as an example of what not to do to learn from others mistakes. Humans learn best through the mistakes they make and others make.
Follow these Rules and the only other thing you have to worry about is actually being a decent player, a HIGH ROLE PLAYER that's good at just that, and actually having a Forum Account that is Old Enough to past inspection.

Yautja Language: http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Yautja_language
(10/16/15 Updated Info):
1: Yautja Names Consist of 2 words, First Name and Last Name, The first name is a Phrase in the Yautja language of your choice and last name is the name of the Clan they are born into.
Example: Vara'ule K'var-de, (Vara'ule is her name, K'var-de is the clan.)
2: Ranking Structure of Predators:
Young Bloods AKA Unbloodied:
Young bloods are the starting line for all Yautja, you have never engaged a serpent (Xenomorph) in combat and are hunting Humans to train your skills and earn your adulthood/full clan gear.
Bloodied:
This honorary title is given to those Young Hunters who gain their first Serpent kill and live to tell the tale thus becoming a full fledged member of their clan, achieving adulthood and granted access to their gear they were given to complete the hunt. A ceremony is given and thus you continue to hunt for honor and glory.
Elites:
Those hunters who achieve every skin and skull of each Serpent Caste and then goes further on completing Two or more Queen kills. (Understand each kill you must skin and bring back as a trophy. Without the trophy you didn't correctly handle the kill.) Afterwards you speak with your Clan Leader and they give the Bloodied the honorary title of Elite.
Clan Leader:
To become a Clan Leader you must storm and clear exactly 300 hives in your lifetime, something that would not only be near impossible to accomplish but also leaves your body aged finely to its prime other the milleniums. All Clan Leaders are Super Yautja's, a type of Yautja only possible through Lengthy Aging Processes and constant hardening of the body through surviving. (That's essentially exercising to them.) You will never find a Clan Leader out on the hunt, and Super Yautja's are entirely served to Upper Management of Staff until they say otherwise. So no touching of that subject.
Good Luck! Good Hunting!
