Terrorists

Post by Boltersam » 29 Oct 2015, 18:51

I've been thinking, colonial marines don't JUST fight xenomorphs, they deal with things police can't deal with, terrorists and things of that nature, and I think if there was a Terrorist round where a set number of terrorists spawn on the Alpha map, not even with custom weapons or armour, just an armour vest, jumpsuit, shoes, a pulse rifle with two clips, and a combat knife, with a set objective to carry out (maybe people with survivor preference on get to spawn as regular citizens that can be taken hostage, to add RP into the mix?), and the colonial marines have to save the hostages or kill the terrorists or something similar.
Food for thought, the suggestions forum "new thread" button didn't show up, so I want a discussion going to see if this could actually work.

If implemented right that could be fun, but, most, people are rather RP adverse ( I know I'm guilty of this at times) and this would end poorly most of the time as the terrorists would likely kill the hosteges, get rekt or the civilians decide they know how to use a smartgun or whatever they get their hands on. Plus the server is made primarily for human v xeno combat

*Cough* Suggestions are closed that's why the new topic button didn't show up.

In regards of fighting terrorism as the CM, wouldn't that basically be like when rebel rounds where hosted and there were hostages etc?

I like this.... since it would break up the cycle. when I play SL I always tell my marines when we deploy to move cover to cover and keep heads low ect..... but people ignore it since its not like we are facing humans... if there was a chance when we went down it wasnt actaully Xenos it would make it more tense

For reference the terrorist rounds have already been voted on by the community under the title of "Rebel round" viewtopic.php?f=64&t=3715

There are also some reasons why people like and also dislike it.

Okay. Uh.. Let's clarify the difference between rebel rounds and terrorist rounds.

In rebel rounds around half the server or at least a good portion are taken and spawned onto the map. They are giving grey tides delight clothing and bullet proof armor. Along with normal guns. They usually have something to keep as a hostage.

In terrorist rounds around 4-6 people are spawned in with high level armor and guns, along with usually multiple hostages.

Both objectives are the same for rebel rounds and what you call a "Terrorist round" also with 4-6 people defending against 30-40 + people wouldn't matter if they had high tier weaponary and armour, numbers will always prevail against quality, that's why in a rebel round the teams are split mostly equally.

I wish they would happen more often but they take quite a bit of time to prepare from what I understand

I'm simply correcting you that there is still a difference between them.

Didn't SAS say he would quit if a rebel round or something similar would be implemented?
George S.Patton once said:No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

I don't like cute things.

Good hunting.

Yes. I did if this sort of shit happened I would flip my shit and probably leave, I am sorry but Rebel/Terrorist rounds every time we had ever done them on old server had been nothing but trouble and I still regret ever even trying to do them every single time I did. I tried so many times and only once did it ever go well and that was when we had EIGHT staff members on. The way the game mode works is just to chaotic and hectic for staff and without close supervision it can fall apart or have some subtle grief everywhere in it.
