Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
Bug Description:Specialist rag fits in backpack.
With the recent removal of helmets fitting in backpacks, I figure this should probably be added to the list.
Steps to reproduce:
1.Be specialist
2.Put rag in bag
3.Survive an extra hugger.

I see Spec rags as an armored bandana, NOT a helmet. You want a visual? A Ghost's mask from CoD.

It's a durag. It could fit behind your ear if you folded it right. This isn't a bug,

Explain the response then, it has nothing to do with the bug described by the OP, he is talking about putting it in the bag then somehow surviving a hugger while it is in a BAGmonkeysfist101 wrote:It's a durag. It could fit behind your ear if you folded it right. This isn't a bug,

Re: Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
I'm fairly certain he's talking about how it can be worn to stop a hugger and that it can fit in the bag, while the helmet can not fit in the bag.MrJJJ wrote: Explain the response then, it has nothing to do with the bug described by the OP, he is talking about putting it in the bag then somehow surviving a hugger while it is in a BAG

This is what he said, i don't see where it says you can wear it to stop a hugger expect putting it in the bag, unless he has done a poor job at explaining...monkeysfist101 wrote: I'm fairly certain he's talking about how it can be worn to stop a hugger and that it can fit in the bag, while the helmet can not fit in the bag.

Are we gonna start complaining that Carriers hold extra huggers now too? It's literally the point of the role to do things others can't.MrJJJ wrote: Steps to reproduce:

1. Why was mine quotedDavidchan wrote: Are we gonna start complaining that Carriers hold extra huggers now too? It's literally the point of the role to do things others can't.
2. What does complaining about Carriers (Who is a xenomorph and a different class?) have to do with anything? and no, the point of the role in marine team is not that
3. The point of this thread is that you can block a hugger with a rug while its in a bag, specialist, marines, medics, engineers, they just icly know different things, specialist is just a man with better armor and access to better weaponry, nothing much else, the xenomorphs are completley different thing

Re: Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
The obvious fix is to give carriers specialist rags.

1) You're the last one to echo-chamber the OP, and obviously you're all failing to see the point.
Specialist gear is unique to them. A max of 4 rags can exsist, more can't be ordered or replaced. And you're complaining that they can got a whopping 1 extra chance against a hugger?
2) The analogy to the Carrier was because the carrier does what other xenos don't, Carry more than 2 huggers, and the Specialist gets better gear.
3)It fits in the bag. So what? It's a sci-fi super-kevlar headwrap that can fold up and be shoved into a bag, it's not like you can get 5 of them and shove them in your bag like marines used to do with helmets. Specialist get so many damn complaints it's not even funny anymore, yet when marines complain about high tier Xenos there is a chorus of Xeno players screaming it's balanced and really should be buffed.
It's no more meta than aliens shoving huggers in lockers at the nexus or under debris near the LZ, which happens with such an incredible frequency you have to ask why it's only the nexus that the Xenos booby trap and not any of the other buildings. Because meta cuts both ways.

Re: Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
For what its worth I would technically classify this as a bug, mainly in that the game has it that all head items that can block facehuggers cannot be placed into bags. Its a inconsistency.
The only exception I can recall are donator helmets which start in your backpack, but I've yet to see someone not take their donator gear (outside of them being a non-marine role) out of their bag to wear it.
The idea of giving Spec's a unique helmet that blocks two facehuggers is more of a suggestion, also they can invest in a B18 armour which blocks three huggers.

Compaining is different than reporting, op thought it was (and maybe it is) a bug, so he reported it untill its confirmed by staff thats its not a bug or a bug, there is no complaining

Yeah, its a evolved caste, while specialist is a marine who gets better gear, he is like your heavy weapons guy, But he is the same as other marines expect the gear, nothing much else
3)

LOL WAT?
where does this source come from?
Specialist get so many damn complaints it's not even funny anymore
Again, this is not a complaint, this is a presumed bug report that has yet to be confirmed.

Re: Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
Uh... I'm not really sure what everyones getting worke up about. This was a bug report from months ago, when apophis was irritated people could just stock weling helmets and regular helmets into bags. He removed them for a reason. I sorta thought it was like putting a M83 rocket launcher in a holster. An exploit.
An... if it's a couple months old, You have to assume the devs saw it by then, and either acknowladged it exists and is supposed to. There wasn't a reason to bring back this report.

Re: Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
It seems like an oversight. The headrag is a specialist reskin of the marine helmet. It should therefore be held to the same standard as their standard counterparts in terms of item-size. Unless it's an intended feature for Specs to be able to carry a backup helmet on them, then they should be adjusted accordingly.RadiantFlash wrote:Uh... Re: Specialist-rag fits in backpack.
If there is ever going to be a "extra helmet" for anyone I think it would be interesting to make it that you attach a sling to a helmet and place it on your suit akin to webbing.
Sure, as Spec you might get the ability to hold a second helmet. At the expense of no webbing, which is a big choice for Spec's as ammo space is very limited.
