I thought we could kill the rav once it opened the shuttle doors. No marines were hurt in the blast and desperate measures were needed. I didn't know how big the explosion radius was going to be. It was much larger than I thought.

There have been a couple incidents where I had thought about making a player complaint about Carson, however they were all IC issues that could have been settled ICly, despite him being in the wrong. So while I'm not directly a witness to this incident in particular, I've seen him do other things that I would consider pushing it, at least for Commander.

I am REALLY sorry to intrude into this thread, but could name any of IC issues you are talking about? Otherwise your words sound...empty.

First incident that comes to memory is when he tried to grab the survivors that had been brought to the Sulaco and throw them on the drop-pod to send them back to the planet to be killed by xenos, because one of them broke a law or something. I was MP that round and refused to help Carson do that, repeatedly stopped him from actually doing what he intended. He repeatedly said that since they broke a law, and since they aren't subject to Marine Law (which is false, they're on the marine vessel, they're subject to marine law) he had no other choice, despite it effectively being an execution. Of course, it was unlawful and I was considering making an ahelp because if it had continued, I would've had to incarcerate him. But while it was all happening, I think the round had to be restarted before I made the move to arrest him for... what honestly would be a terrible crime.

There are many, many things like this that Carson has done. Things that aren't all that problematic, but are still issues, and it seems rather constant.

Character Witness:

The last time I had an issue was only Bill Carson as a XO and Bridge folks using the Medical Bay for narcotics while I was a Medical Doctor. I believe this is the only issue I've had with Carson, and allowed Commander and Military Police deal with it. It was quite saddening.

I can confirm he did indeed blow it all open.

But let's be honest, it SORTA' DESERVED to be blown open, covering the shuttle the electric grilles and all....

Every now and again the marines really go crazy with the electric grilles... It sucks when they get placed over ladders because it's basically stun + death and there's nothing you can do about it.

Also as a character witness for Bill I would like to say he usually is one of the best RPers on this server creating great interactions and alot of fun through his stories and work, this report sounds more like an IC thing within the round and more posted out of anger at losing than a more concrete issue such as griefing.

I'm of the mind-set of putting anything over ladders is a dick move and shouldn't be done, but that's okay, change the quote along to make a point >.>

So here's what I found concerning the explosion.

[20:44:31]GAME: DingleDangle/(Frankie Kelly) shot fueltank at Dropship Hangar (145,155,4).
[20:44:31]GAME: Explosion with size (0, 0, 3) in area Dropship Hangar

Which resulted in the grilles getting fucked up. Because Bill dragged the fuel tank over there. He was not, however, the one who shot it.

Whether or not this decision was the lynchpin in how the round proceeded could be debatable. What it mostly comes down to is being primarily an IC issue. As Fitchace said, no one was harmed explicitly by the explosion, nor was the ship depressurized in any form, therefore it's hard to label this as griefing. Stupid, yes. A rule violation, probably not. Especially considering he didn't even shoot the canister.

That being said, Fitchace, you have a strong tendency to do irrational shit in hectic situations like the one described above. Putting a fuel tank out in plain sight as a countermeasure and in close proximity to your marines is not something a Commander would do in a realistic scenario. That, is not good roleplay. That, is something you see on Goonstation. It's very likely your actions contributed to an Alien Victory. Still, an IC issue at best. I suggest you work towards improving your Roleplay and staying away from power roles in the mean time. Commander is a role that takes incredible responsibility, and some of your actions now and in the past could be considered more than questionable in regard to letting you keep playing that position.

Recommended Punishment: A Warning regarding playing as CO and other Command Roles. Added to the player's notes.

I thought I did a pretty good job that round, keeping up communication and making sure all squads were situated with a SL and combined some squads because there was not enough troops.

I'm confused when you say "Putting a fuel tank out in plain sight as a countermeasure and in close proximity to your marines is not something a Commander would do in a realistic scenario." And you then give examples of what isn't good role play. Are you saying I did do that or didn't - I only pushed the fuel tank in because their was barley anyone left in the hangar so I was taking last resort measures, plus no one was injured which proves no one was in close proximity.

Also as you said this didn't break any rules and would be labeled as an IC issue, why would I get any kind of warning in my notes?

I understand where you come from when you say I get irrational because I do sometimes get..."creative" in my role play, but when I play a certain role I act accordingly. Even then why use that against me? Why can't we just base it off the facts of the round?

He's a somewhat sketchy Commander. A round comes to mind where I played as MP and he went insane because he "heard voices in his head", (Thinking admin subtle notice?) leading to him boarding the droppod naked and going down to the planet with a squad of marines. I had to detain him and a mod told me to throw him in perma for being mentally unstable. I suppose you could call it RP, but that's a stretch considering the round hinges around him doing his job and doing something like that is a bit edgey. Not sure how relevant this tidbit is considering his has turned into a general dirt thread on him.

With some of the controversial and stupid shit that Carson has done whilst in a command capacity, I am unpleasantly confused as to why he hasn't been jobbanned from Command. For example, in one such round, Zaitsev and Lew were arrested, stunned and beaten while secured to chairs, stripped naked, held for far longer than necessary, and then finally released after Carson ordered Zaitsev and I to exchange our loadouts.
