Reskin the Marine Belt
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Change the Marine Belt from the SS13 security belt to the Vietnam era web belts used in the movies.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It would look nicer with the character sprites and remove the red dot on the groin.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Make the belt lower profile (1-2 pixels) and recolor it to be off-tan/OD green. Perhaps put a drop pouch on one side and a canteen on the other,
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Sprite change.

+1 to a recolor. I would like to not have a security belt on marines anymore.

I started to work on this a few weeks ago, but I got distracted and forgot about it.

Team Being? You mean Time Being?SecretStamos (Joshuu) wrote:I started to work on this a few weeks ago, but I got distracted and forgot about it.

Also, +1, no offense. I don't prefer the Marine Belt to be shown in that icon (provided above). It seems too unfuturistic.

Re: Reskin the Marine Belt
The belts used by the marines were standard issue Vietnam pistol belts.UnknownMurder wrote: Team Being? You mean Time Being?

Re: Reskin the Marine Belt
The movie was Space 'Nam. I based the sprite off of the movie. (Crowe to be specific.) How would you prefer them to look more futuristic?

Re: Reskin the Marine Belt
I was thinking something more like metallic feeling to it, like the Security Belt, and thicker.

Re: Reskin the Marine Belt
It's going to be more or less like the Vietnam US Army belt. The Aliens universe is very purposely a lower-tech sci-fi.

Kinda makes sense. Low tech stuff tends to be far more reliable. You want something which is tried and tested, and if its a design over 200 years old with a couple of minor tweeks you know its going to be up to scratch.SecretStamos (Joshuu) wrote:It's going to be more or less like the Vietnam US Army belt. Re: Reskin the Marine Belt
I'd be fine with this. I like the low and bulky tech of the aliens universe. I feel like a lot of things actually still need to be reskined, like the computers.SecretStamos (Joshuu) wrote:It's going to be more or less like the Vietnam US Army belt. I'm all up for reskinning.
