New Map and Gamemode: USM Auriga

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Add a new ship: the USM Auriga with a unique gamemode

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Creating diversity in gameplay and adding a map to the rotation.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
The way it would work would be that marines start out randomly strewn about the Auriga, they are equipped with their custom loadout items, as well as a marine jumpsuit and boots, maybe a knife but that's it.
The marines' objective would be to consolidate and arm up to the best of their ability. Ammo, weapons, and armor would be scattered around the ship. The only form of communication would be through the use of scavenged bounced radios. Perhaps the commander could start off with one.

The idea behind this game mode would be an Alien containment failure like in Resurrection. While Resurrection was a horrible disgrace to the franchise, it could make for a fun gamemode. This mode would start out with a clear xenomorph advantage (they spawn ready to evolve) that slowly decays as the round goes on and marines procure better equipment. I believe that this could make for a tense and fast-paced gamemode that rewards mobility and exploration. There would be an armory that would be tough to get into (perhaps a trip to engineering would be required to grab the necessary hacking tools).

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Honestly I'm just spitballing here. I think it would be really interesting to see a situation where ammunition is precious and the marines have nowhere to fall back to. In order to be implemented this would need coding magic and a new map. This would probably be a down-the-line type project but I just wanted to see if this is something people would want to do.

Sidenote: I know the Auriga is not a Colonial Marines ship, but I think it could be within acceptable limits to include it.

-1 On the Auriga being the ship in question since it's really weird timeline-wise. As a game mode it would be neat to have a more horror-focused mode, especially for a lower-medium pop round.

Yeah, alien ressurection sucked. But the IDEA is interesting: instead of starting with a "safe harbor" that the sulaco is, we already start with the "sulaco" under invasion

That's what is the interesting on the concept, it's like an normal xeno round on SS13 or when the sulaco is breached.
You can't fallback to a place, you don't have a safe place, everywhere you go is unsafe.

The concept is good, just need to work more.

+1 I like this a lot. I don't think it should be called the Auriga, but I like it. It's more true to the series where everywhere you turn could be a trap.

Alright so nix on the name Auriga, it's a bad association anyway. But for the sake of discussion we can still call it the Auriga until a new name is proposed.

+1 This could be a great addition to CM and I hope it gets put through. Also, maybe instead of Auriga, we could name it the Valhalla, or maybe the Odysseus?

I... have not thought of that yet. Maybe they'd have to be xenos? If that's not a favorable option then they could just spawn randomly like everyone else. Joining late is always a gamble anyway and I don't imagine these rounds would be as long as LV 624 rounds.

Anyway, this would be SILLY levels of hard to implement. We'd need to do a LOT of recoding in things and setup independent job-types.

Meh.... This would be nice for low population and that's about it.

I don't know how an AVERAGE round with the normal people playing would go. I mean yeah we have our GOOD RP'ers and such but we would also have that one baldie who has yet to touch their character setup and so on.

Overall not a bad idea though, Work out some more ideas with it. +1

The general Alien naming convention for ships is Joseph Conrad's work. The Nostromo was named after his book Nostromo that featured a town called Sulaco. The Sephora was a ship in his novel The Secret Sharer. More can be found here: http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Joseph_Conrad

I wouldn't expect this anytime soon, I was just wondering if anyone else liked the sound of a gamemode like this. Maybe in a year or so.

I would imagine in this particular gamemode, new joiners would be xenomorphs?

Sounds to me like the easiest implementation is a ratio of "Survivors" and Aliens at round start. Survivors have ~one hour to an hour and thirty minutes to survive, and get to an escape area without dieing. New joiners would join in as random tiers of xenos, while the survivors have to fend off the alien hordes and hide in lockers and shit. Might be a good idea to have there be no queen, so aliens have a one life deal like the survivors. Also, might want to disable drones and carrier joining, or disable carriers and queen evolve.
