Engineering addition
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
It is kind of hard to miss the APC under Engineering. I believe MTs would have a fun time or even the CE would have a very fun time to fix it, somehow get it to the shuttle and deploy it planetside. It would remove the eyesore that it currently is.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
How it would benefit the server and the game would be giving Charlie, the perpetual recon squad, a way to get around safely and together.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
I think it would be VERY effective of a sieging tactic for the marines if the Armored Personnel Carrier was fixed and deployed, giving xenos a harder time to catch and infect the marines in question. Of course it would run on phoron or possibly the fuel tanks just laying around, causing it to have to stick to the colony in the first place. It would give more of an atmosphere of civilization by cruising on the pathways, instead of hoofing it everywhere. It would be able to be slashed and broken, causing the squad engineers to try and fix it up to get it back to Engineering, but it would be a BIG win for the xenos if that happened.

I think the hardest thing about the APC, is getting it to move. I don't even know how you'd go about making a multi-tile vehicle. How would you cover it changing direction? Should it even be multi tile? I suppose you could try making it a 2x2 tile machine, instead of a 1x2. That would fix the direction issue. Coding it might be a sort of monster though.

As much as I love the iconic APC, this is simply too impractical. Let's say that we managed to get it working. Where would we go? The maximum map size is too small to implement drivable areas without making it boring as all get out for those hoofing it. Unfortunately, this is a -1 for me.

Map sizes get up to a max of 255x255. The problem is that you now have such a MASSIVE map, that you'll compound the whole straggler problem, unless other steps are made.

It think it's a nice concept but probably not do-able or if it is it would take a fair while to actually get to a not completely buggy stage.

While it'd be neat to have, I feel like the time sunk into trying to code and balance a playable APC could be better spent elsewhere. Also I can already imagine arguments over who gets to 'drive' the APC and people arguing and getting into pointless fights over it.

Could have it ID locked to squad leads or engineers.
