A good large number of you may not know my personal background before I came to CM, so here it is. Don't be shocked at what you read here.

I came from an actual virtual tabletop site called Fabletop. Now, Fabletop is more of a tight-knit community than what you would expect from a tabletop site, and it runs on a D6 system. The easiest comparison is a D20 system such as DnD. Similar but now. Roll up to ten dice, each die has a 33% chance to succeed so odds are not in your favor. But I digress. The only reason why I left the site is because of a rant. The site itself is supposed to be a mature environment (18+) and yet the chat is censored so that little children won't get offended. Yes I rant, its how I blow off steam and get rid of excess salt. I have a policy of salt and frustration where if I get salty, I excuse myself from whatever made me salty and take a break. I also rant occasionally and on this particular site, there is ONE staff and that is the site creator. I ranted two times, first ended up with a warning 'to act civil', yet I was messaged with 'Cry moar, bb'. Of course I tried to act civil, but I ranted again. This rant ended up with an IP ban. Not a temporary ban, an IP ban. I believe, essentially, the site creator made a decision to make the site like this: 'I am God and you must obey my every whim. I'm right with everything, you're wrong and you will be banned from my site.' While I can see why he can do this, as the site creator, but having a ban system that uses ONLY IP bans without a chance for appeal? Something is going wrong.

May I have your opinions whether or not my opinion is validated, and feel free to share your own stories.

My opinion is thus: Site hosts can do whatever they want, they're the ones paying for the site.

The thing that irks me is IP ban, no appeal.

It was generic ranting against co-gms and rude people.
