A page for merc teams (THIS WAS ACTUALLY DONE)

Simple.

We need a page in the marines jobs with a "merc" job, in the description we put "respond to distress calls or make the life of the marines harder" and in the page we have all merc groups (Iron Bear, WY PMC, etc) with a image of a trooper and a small flavor description of them (e.g: WY PMC was founded by WY to be a PMC, bla bla. Iron bear: fromed by ex-space spetznaz members, bla bla).

It could be done now, if based Joshuu could post a picture of each merc group uniform(and their names) or this should be a secret for the marines?

problem is if they aid the marines then it's a marine advantage over the aliens but if they kill the marines then it's a alien advantage over the marines. people don't to play when their chances of winning are so low.

Wot, I'm suggesting a page with the mercs that come when a distress call(AKA CM's version of ERT). I'm not trying to suggest new game mechanics, just put what we have on the game and give each flavor of merc (hell, even pizza ERT) to expand lore.

I've gone through the Merc wiki page (and a whole bunch of other pages). I would love to expand the merc page into its own fleshed out sub-directory but that would require me to get a lot of in game images of the mercs and their weapons, which is beyond my abilities for now.

I would request that a mercenary link be placed on the main page, as I think Merc's are something independent of Marines and it makes little sense to hide the Merc's deep in the Marine Role's. A simple tab on the Marine side of the wiki home page would be fine in my opinion.

I don't think each merc group deserves a page, maybe expanding the page to include weapons and equipment since they are different from the marines.

But in the end, the mercs are just CMs version of the ERT. Even that they are their own thing, they play basically as marines.

Meh, always tough they were ex-soviet troops based on the lore for AvP, I was just confused since that it wasn't implied anywhere.

Also, I kind off created a lore for Dutch's dozen and created a whole new name for the space mercs calling them "freelancers"

Wait I thought the Iron Bears were just a PCM that has its organization situated in Russia.

Also there is no reference in the Aliens lore of Russia having reverted back to being the USSR, the only references I can get is that Russia, as in Russia and not the USSR, was apart of a United Nations space initiative before the events of the first Alien movie.

On the PMC's I don't see a huge issue with going into some detail on each PMC group, it gives people some insight into the differences in how each PMC operates, as well onto what to expect in terms of playing as and against them.

The Iron Bears are a special forces group that is part of the military of the USSR.

The Iron Bears are a mercenary force from Eastern Europe, but aren't affiliated with any government. They're contracted in the game AvP2 (2001) by Weyland Yutani to provide security to a Xenomorph site, but end up causing a lot of collateral damage.

In the Aliens universe, the USSR was disbanded. Instead, an organization called the UPP (Union of Progressive Peoples) takes their place. From Aliens: Infestation and the original script of Aliens 3 (where they were set to debut), they occupy much of the same land as the USSR, and hold a lot of colonies.

I've got a couple sets of armor for UPP soldiers and crewmen based off their gold-tinted armor from Aliens: Infestation. In that game, they also carried bullpup pulse rifles.

I think the bears could be another hostile merc working in a false flag for WY that has the objective of capturing a body of each single xeno caste

I'd personally like things to remain as-is with the ERTs and have the UPP reserved for events.

No, the Commandos are an ERT, although an admin only one.


The current lore we have doesn't permit the UPP to exist because it still has the USSR. The UPP is the successor to the USSR, so we'd have to change our back story to permit them.

Don't mess with Joshuu and his CM lore, he's corrected me on a couple occasions regarding Aliens events in comparison to CM.
