Orders A.K.A suggestions

Ignoring orders: alot of people do it. So many that you can't expect anyone to bother reporting and handeling everyone that does it.

It's an issue that makes playing any form of command feel worthless. Something should really be doen about this. My idea was that on the alien side the queen would be able to declare a certain alien an outlaw meaning it could be killed by all other aliens and give SL's a field arrest kit so they can easily take care of people that disobey orders.

I know there's 100 and 1 issues with these suggestions. That's why I put this here, I'm interested if you guys consider this to be a rather large issue and how we could solve it if you do think that.

If "group up with other runners and hunters" and "stay away from the dangerous hosts" are considerd legit orders 3/4 aliens should get banned. This is what I meant with you can't expect someone to report and handel every incident of this. Most certainly because you can't truely know when they didn't follow your orders (as a queen that is).

Oh you mean those orders? Dunno about those ones... Some aliens follow, some don't.

Aliens aren't an issue because it's literally a rule, so if it's being broken we can easily handle it. Marines need a solution though, I can't count how many times some BO has ahelped "x squad leader isn't following orders" and the SL responds with "the orders were shit." The orders are never really bad, usually just some retreat orders.

I think the problem is that a lot of people don't think of the larger picture. Perhaps they want everyone to retreat because it'd be easier to evacuate the injured alpha squad with another squad or two present. SL's just don't seem to think of anything outside of their own situation -which is reasonable. A lot of the time they're only concerned with what is happening to their squad and their squad only. They don't follow orders if they conflict with what they think is best for their squad. This is probably because no one who plays SL actually is a solider who has had following orders drilled into their head.

I'd love to talk about some suggestions if anyone has any.

Its quite simple
Someone with the ability to execute marines on the battlefield for mutiny or being the cowards they are and falling back or disobeying orders
Might be chaotic,likely
But......it would stop marines from disobeying orders....unless they gunned down the commissar

Seriously tough: another idea was to let MP's join the battle. Tough this will probally end up in MP's just joinging the battle or them being alien food.

Another idea I had, but I think it woudn't be easy to code, is digitalizing the whole Squad system so that demotions and reassignments could happen on the go. The CO would just be able to change the assigned Squad and role. That way they can easily assign a new SL that is actually listening and allot of other nice stuff (Marine retreat to sulaco with 15 marines left because all squads got decimated)

Easier idea: give all marines a HUD. This way if someone is a wanted criminal they can see that.

Yeah I was thinking about such a thing also. A box with arrest stuff in it: A tazer, flash and cuffs or something like that.

I have to say, marking someone as AWOL as an SL is one of the best experiences I had i the server, everyone started chasing the rogue marine and trying to hunt him down.

It's just a matter of choosing the right words, saying AWOL look worst than syaing "rogue"
