Exploding Mine Nerf

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Well I want some nerf and It's really annoying how people do this shit to you.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Less rages by xenos as I've seen so many promixity mines under corpses or items and it reallys get annoying.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):Okay basically this is how i''d set it up
Not likely to trigger
Runner 99%
Hunter around 80%-85%
Ravager and Crusher 15%-20%
Sentinel 90%
Spitter 75%
Boiler and Praetorian 20%-25%
Drone 80%
Carrier 45%
Hivelord 10%
Queen 5%
This is all the percentages. Basically the Queen has a 5% chance to not trigger the promixity mine. Runners are more likely not to trigger it. So that's what I thought.

We can just make the chances random... Either those two.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): I'm thinking more like when you have alien on your preferences when your ready and you don't become the alien. So yeah..

mines are literally the only counter to runners, apart from a SADAR. also act as natural selection.
get a crusher to disarm mines and you'll be fine, leaning toward -1.

I think we need anti-runner weapon and mines are good for that. Mines dont do much against crushers. -Support

Mines are abusive af. People put them under corpses of aliens or some shit. But in reality you would just step on the corpse and not trigger the mine.. I mean you can still do this but you have a chance of not triggering.

-1 For the love of god, they don't even Crit tier 2, and I don't even think they can insta-kill a single runner.

Runners put huggers behind wooden barricades, so yeah, also, if aliens see mines they just avoid the area, there needs to be a way to hide them, because you can't ask alien players to ignore the mines to avoid metagame.

-1 mines work just fine, they only kill T1s, which isn't that much of a loss, and if xenos work together and recovery each other they are more of an annoyance than a threat.

You want to nerf mines, then you'd best be ready to nerf facehuggers with the same failure chance.

Not true at all. If the hive has hosts and doesn't have T1s suicide charging into FOBs and Marine territory alone, then the loss of a T1 isn't a big deal because a new larva can be taken in the next 5-10 minutes. Slows down T3s, but doesn't remove them.

Make it so mines have a 25% chance of shooting confetti out and making a honk sound instead of exploding and I'm sold.
Edit: As well as recoloring xenos to neon colors.

-1, camouflaging mines is not an issue because it counters the meta. Those runners ain't gonna explode themselves.

Last I checked, tier 1 Xenos get instantly killed and everything else aside from a Crusher gets stunned, which is essentially a death sentence if there's even ONE marine nearby.

Personally, since Xenos are always outnumbered by around 3-8 to one xeno, I would be perfectly fine with a nerf.

But marines will get upset if they start losing during high-pop hours.

Mines are a annoying issue due to the fact that...

a:) Aliens meta what mines (and grenades) are and avoid them from the get go.

b:) Mines are easy to hide under virtually anything.

c:) One hit kills in ANY video game are very obnoxious.

I guess that's why you always get people shouting about aliens being op and then humans being op when either side brings out something that's a near one hit kill (huggers to SADAR).

Imo I think removing the meta (if any) restriction on alien knowledge on what mines are would be a fine change. If not already prehaps make it that Humans can also trigger Mines, so you can't just hide a Mine or else a Marine might walk over it.

EDIT: Welp, I fucked up the quoting and I'm too lazy to fix it on my phone.

Already suggested that, or rather, asked WHY marines and survivors don't trigger mines since they're anti-personal explosives that don't harm personal.

Apparently, the marines have little implants in them so the mine knows they're friendly. And even better, it can magically tell the difference between the heavy ravager corpse it's hidden underneath and a live drone that was walking nearby. It just magically knows.

It also magically knows not to blow up monkeys or anything else that isn't a xeno, despite the fact nobody's had contact with the Xenos yet.

Isn't that great?
