New map: USS Inheritors - the sister ship of Sulaco

New map: USS Inheritors - the sister ship of Sulaco
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): USS Inheritors is the sister ship of the USS Sulaco, a Costaguana-class that was build at the same time of the sulaco.
However, different from the Sulaco, the Inhertors was designed to a different mission: the United Americas Allied Command (UAAC) and the Weyland-Yutani corporation decided to use the ship as an mobile lab for a a highly classified top-secret project. The ship was retrofitted to serve it's new function, the crew as changed to work: there were both weyland-yutani PMCs and marines guarding the ship and a lot of civilians, mostly researchers working on the project.
Because of the secrecy of the projects, the ship would have barely any communication with exterior: only small reports to the UAAC, no crew changes during the period and no communications with family. And recently, the few and far communcations with the rest of the high-command ceased,it's all dark and command has no idea what happened: maybe a mutiny, a pirate raid or just lost communication.
The brass cannot risk leaking details about the projects, so all details about the projects, WY involvment and even basic intel about the ship have been redacted by the UAAC. All we know that we are supposed to get in, check the situation and fix whatever the problem is.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): A new map, what is interesting on this one is that is an almost perfect clone of the Sulaco, except for some details, this could lead to interesting RP and some map variation.
This map would be WAY easier to make than other maps since it's almost an sulaco clone.

Since this ship was retroffited, some changes have to be made. While it looks like sulaco, there will be some changes to the layout, this will be my changes in mind.
No squad lockers on the inhertor, instead, the locker area is changed to be a laboratory area where the experiments were happening, this will include xenomorph study areas with autopsy areas with some drone bodies, facehuggers vials and stuff like that. However the acess doors wouldn't be located in the cantina as in the sulaco, instead they would be closed blast doors that can be acessed by briefing area. Also Briefing become something else that is not briefing, maybe some kind of big lounge?
Dropship acess: Done on EVA area Pod acess: Where cargo shuttle is. Talking about shuttles and pods, the inheritor's shuttle should be heavely demaged with missing walls and windows and broken chairs and stuff like that. They also wouldn't have a pod.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
I'm not going to say "hurr durr mapping" because that's stupid.
What we need to do is first to copy paste Sulaco, after that we edit to make the sulaco "destroyed" and with dead bodies (This would include "scientist"/"corporate stooge"/"PMC" and a new "Marine" bodies), edit the areas that I've pointed out and add some "extra" details like different objects in different places (because two ships wouldn't have two objects at the same place)

I had double thoughts on this, but then I imagined exploring "Sulaco, but not Sulaco. But still Sulaco" It could be really awesome. Also, it's really less (a bit) difficult, than make full new map.

If we do get this can maint techs and the CE possibly get a side mission to setup a space bridge for easier reinforcing between the two ships? (Or it can be pre-built but I feel like if we had 4 methods of getting to either ship it might break up the meta defences which can sometimes be seen.)

I'd like this idea in all honestly, especially since science is actually getting some updates and love recently. The new map would fit well in my opinion, maybe let scientists have their own little side objectives here.

the size is the only thing bothering me, if you have a solution then it'll be swell, cause I have none except for making it bigger than just copypasting the Sulaco, as in the size of her.

One thing i will say is if you are going to copy and paste the Sulaco only use the top deck as ladder camping would become a real issue just like on the Halloween map.

Could probably turn those turbine rooms into an engineering department, stretching the back of the ship a little. Maybe make the smaller ones into small atmospherics departments or engineering storage areas, etc.

There's already discussion about this, and how we'd go about it.
The problem is that if we add more maps, the server will lag to near uncontrollability. We've been working on optimization, but I think short of a monthly "map cycle" I'm not sure what we could do long-term.

And why server would lag? I just dunno, how it all works, but can you explain in simple? When server starts all maps getting loaded to server no matter what map is currently selected and that means more maps — more lags all the time? I would prefer not, if you played since NSS, you would know that the original sulaco was more like an placeholder, even the change that give more details like maint and stuff like that was just to make a bit better to a future map. The current map is more complete and more like a ship, different from the old which has some big problems on the layout.
Take the nostalgia goggles off and you'll notice how old sulaco is bad design.

The old Sulaco has no need for maintenance technicians or chief engineer, because you never need to set up the engine. There is a SME which produces infinite amount of power itself in the TeleComms. The Sulaco itself is also three times smaller and the shuttles arrive in the middle of the Sulaco, giving the aliens benefit to separate medbay, research and security from the marine area. There is also no requisitions or cargo office, rendering RO useless job.
That explains pretty much why the map is a placeholder.
