A simple adjustment

Post by ShortTemperedLeprechaun » 05 Feb 2016, 17:30

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Not to long ago, I saw a PMC commando manage to be tackled down and slashed, and have to keep picking up his gun. I suggest, that like the smartgn and mag strip, it snaps onto suit storage.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It is supposed to be the ultimate weapon, expiremental, yada yada, then why is it it doesn't snap onto the suit? This would make them a greater threat in my opinion, as even if you down one, he can get back up and go back to shooting.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Make death squad a bit more lethal, in the way they cannot lose their weapon.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): I assume similiar to the coding for the smartgun and mag strip.

That may be true, but the suggestion is that it's a built in mechanism, just like how it has a built in gyro stabilizer of sorts.

Didn't even read the thread. Nice try.

Anyways, +1 for deathsquad having inbuilt mag harnesses on the m41c.

I did read it, I'm guessing there would need to be 2 smartguns? A deathsquid inbuilt mag-strap one, and a regular non-one?

I see this getting implemented as just a flat buff to smartguns since that would be easier

Nope, he's not talking about Smartguns. He's talking about the feature of smartgun in which the weapon is snapped to the suit slot being standard on the special M41s the Deathsquad carry.

Have it spawn with a magstrap attachment and call it a day.

Can we even slam attachments on these things?

I'm fairly sure it's just a child object of the regular rifle, so it should accept any and all attachments--they might be disabled given that it's a premodded super rifle, since the various mods are probably already built in to the base stats. You could probably just tick a variable on it and achieve the same effect as the magstrap, but I don't have access to the code. Should be easy to do in any case.
