Weyland-Yutani member.

Post by SuperKirbyStar » 05 Mar 2016, 16:55

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):I suggest that in a round there should be one person that is a member of WY(not to be confused with the Corporate Liason)that is a traitor. He is a traitor because he wants the alien(s) alive.(Including facehuggers)And also the traitor doesn't have to be every round(maybe...)

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):This would be make the server more fun, because you would need to figure out who is working against Sulaco.I knew that the threat was an alien(s),but if we added more it woudn't have to be only the alien.(I didn't include The Iron Bears or Weyland-Yutani Commandos)
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):Ok so, this will be a special preference, that means that you will have to toggle it on(to make the chances higher for being the traitor, because i got to be the alien very rare when i didn't toggle it).So the round has started and you have been choosen to be the Weyland-Yutani member.(And have your own place NOTE:This is optional.I'm just suggesting for the traitor to have a place). And your objectives are the following:
1)Make sure that the aliens live one way or another
2)Loyalty Implant "Y' people.
3)Disallow Communications
4)Make it alive.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):I don't know how to implement this, sorry.
Have a nice day :)

Weell, there is always some Marine that fucks something either during deployment or mid-round. Then everything is further complicated by the Aliens breaching into the Sulaco, or from a bunch of Predators showing up...

No, the thing that makes this server (and the community) unique is that we don't have any traitor-based gamemodes, and I think we should keep it that way.

I would like to see the firefighting system exploited more and have human vs human battles, but are traitors REALLY the way to do that?

Neutral
Want traitors? Standard server,we are NOT enemies or just some ramdon station crew, the Marines are battle brothers
There is a post about the CL and "unique" objectives

I feel that the intent and idea is good, however I don't think having a permanent job slot for an antagonist on board Sulaco is a good idea at all. Marines are already pretty much disorganized on their own as they are, and also the CL already somewhat fills this niche area (working for Weyu, and may also get custom objectives).

You don't need a sleeper-cell marine to appear out of nowhere and create more chaos for his battle-buddies by disabling comms or sabotaging Sulaco to bring a live alien on board.

TLDR; ICly this disrupts teamwork for marines (griefy zone) and OOCly it creates confusion for the newer players. It might do more harm to others than good.

Couldn't you just inject a marine with a loyalty implant? :v}

-1 on traitors, this is suppose to be Colonial Marines fighting against aliens on some planet, not weyland yutani trying to sabotage sulaco, UNLESS they objective is just recover some alien stuff or etc

^^

Pretty much summed up, if you want to kinda of play traitor then go CL which sometimes gets antag directives otherwise this role could cause some much grief. Going with the -1 mate.

-1/neutral.I know this is an old bump, but i dont think normal marines/officers should be automatically traitors in the round. I think that if marines want to role-play with the CL that they're under W-Y's payrole is a fine way to get around that, or if the CL wants to bribe the troopers, but Auto-Tratitor shouldnt be a thing. Best Case scenario i see for this suggestion is for when the Synthetics update comes online, then you could have THOSE guys have a 1/3 chance of being a W-Y infiltrator but till then, i think this is a moot point.

Maybe, maybe have the Researcher have closer W-Y leanings, that i would be happy with IMO. They're both on the same floor, they both are likely company men. Two and Two.

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

I would if you admins weren't saying "No" every time I try to implant people.

Though I don't think traitors are really the way to go about this.

Outside of a game mode, I do not believe this will happen. We already have problems regulating various roles; giving someone antag permissions outside of admin events can lead to them toppling rounds for the marines.
