I mean, he probably had to deconstruct every table in the cafeteria and work for like 20-30 minutes to prepare a pod fort like that, so it's either the slowest alien advance ever or it's meta.

Kind of depends, its possible to do this the moment aliens board if you quick enough, its a complicated defense somewhat, but possible

You don't have to immediately jump to the conclusion that someone had a terribly unfair advantage and broke rules just because they did something remotely cool. The metal was from a leftover supply drop never sent to the surface because of a mutiny. It was literally a sheet of 50 metal. Construction began when hangar was lost.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions, unless you're referring to another poster. I'm observing that it's metagaming. Which it is - it's totally unrealistic behaviour. Although it took me a while to realise they were standing on tables!
