Engineering Adventures aka the things you guys in Engineering has done during the rounds

Post by freemysoul » 26 Mar 2016, 08:08

So I thought I'd start this thread to see what everyone in engineering has done to the engine and the ship itself during the rounds.

1. Set up the SM
2. Cryo'ed

Non-meme edition:
In my futile pursue to find something to entertain myself with after the SM was done, I've set up atmos, improved lower-deck atmos, gave medbay more coolers and a cell rack, and that's it I guess. My attempt at a disposal pipe rollercoaster crushed my lungs, and it didn't even have any bends.
My SM set-up has modified pipe layout and phoron-nitrogen cooling anyways, so that takes considerably more time than a typical start-up - and I still haven't found enough things to mess with to spend the entire round doing something.

1. Build your own solars
2. Establish the intense fortress known as Engitopia.
3. Seal off all doors so you don't get marines breaking in.
4. Stare in awe at your SM, then die from radiation poisoning.

I once created a rec room in space, branching off that maintenance tunnel south of the main ladders on the upper floor of the Sulaco. Unfortunately, our CE had vaporized himself with the ship's blueprints at round start, so I couldn't complete it.

I set up the supermatter and then go to the bridge to bug people. I outrank most of them anyways.

Look at the SM not knowing it damages my eyes, run round looking for medbay but can't find my way. Typical round for me.

I built a few things as an engineer. Mostly useless, but kept me from going brain dead during longer rounds.

The first thing I built; An observation deck, to look at all the pretty stars, and eventually to defend against xeno scum.

Second thing, a solar farm where the panels didn't work, so I turned it into a shitty room, where I was the last survivor and had to defend myself with just a toy sword and some snap pops. Didn't work out very well.

And the last thing for now, a newer version of the observation deck, now featuring sawn-off shotgun. Sadly, marines won that round, so I never had to use it.

When playing as Erika, I set up a backup power grid.
Basically an array of P.A.C.M.A.N generators for providing up to 120000 of emergency power.

Had to use them only once.

Scavenge for phoron to charge the emitter.

Learn how to engineer because I'm just faking it till I make it.
Poor commenter, awkward suggester, and even worse poster
