Lar'ja-th'syra was born a suckling on a large, sprawling Jag'd'ja atoll mothership. His father, a nomadic elite who travelled far and wide, failed in his subsequent Hunt and fled in to the aether rather than face his punishment. A great embarassment. Lar'ja-th'syra's mother took her own life in his father's place. Lar'ja-th'syra thus grew up on the lower decks of the mothership, fighting and scraping with the other have-nots of Yautja society, the clanless children who would never gain the opportunity to Hunt or earn glory in the name of their family. In the name of their Clan. Lar'ja-th'syra was bitter and resentful for many years of his adolescence, and he was obsessed with attaining glory above all else. He wanted to prove his worth, to ascend above his station, and most of all he wanted to prove his superiority over the Yautja who scuffed at the ragged orphan. As many such stories go, Lar'ja-th'syra was given this opportunity in an unusual manner when three Yautja elites returned to the mothership and were granted the status of Clan Leaders by Adjudicator H'ko-h'chak-de.
Rather than populate their Clan over years and generations, the three Clan Leaders recruited the clanless unblooded of the mothership, including Lar'ja-th'syra, to test their competence in the Hunt. They equipped these young ones with basic weapons and armor, and transported them to a nearby planet. The trial was set inside of an ancient Yautja pyramid dedicated to Paya, The Conquering Warrior. Lar'ja-th'syra made his way inside along with two other clanless unblooded to face the hard meat, the serpents who scurried inside. Despite his eagerness to prove himself, Lar'ja-th'syra was severely outclassed by his fellow kv'var-de who each attained three trophies. Lar'ja-th'syra instead ventured deeper and deeper in to the structure, unable to locate his prey, and only when he reached the center--the altar of Paya--that is when the hard meat revealed itself. It was a ferocious drone during the final stages of evolution in to a queen, and it easily torn through Lar'ja-th'syra's novice armor, pinning the unblooded to the altar like a sacrificial offering.
The serpent's tail lashed wildly as the drone attempted to overpower and then skewer the inexperienced Yautja, but Lar'ja-th'syra was surprisingly calm at that very moment. He felt like the great Lord of the Hunt, Paya himself, was watching over the battle with great interest. Lar'ja-th'syra forgot the bitterness he felt for many years living in the slums of the mothership as his spirit was cleansed in that one climactic struggle for life or death. With his wrist gauntlet extended, his only viable weapon, Lar'ja-th'syra sliced through the serpent's tough carapace. The creature's skull smashed next to the warrior as the serpent's body slacked and dropped to the floor. The acid burned his skin but Lar'ja-th'syra found the strength to stand and face the altar. He cautiously removed his biomask and offered a prayer to The Conquering Warrior. Then, with little hesitation, Lar'ja-th'syra carved the symbol of Paya on his forehead. From that day forward, Lar'ja-th'syra was no more. Taking the name of Zazin Kantra of the Yanju Clan, the blooded warrior found his Path.
Zazin Kantra is a typical Yautja in most regards, as he is xenophobic and bigoted to a point, convinced of the supremacy of the Yautja people. His defining characteristic, however, is his zealot-like reverence for the The Conquering Warrior and the tenants of the Hunt. In approaching the Hunt, Zazin Kantra believes that like The Conquering Warrior, a true kv'var-de has no weakness because he is prepared for the Hunt physically, mentally, and spiritually. The spiritual quality of the Hunt is just as important as strength or speed or intellect, and for this reason Zazin Kantra dedicates his kills to Paya on a hand-crafted altar whenever possible. Another important aspect of this reverence is the belief that a true kv'var-de must face a worthy adversary, a prey that is both strong and intelligent, and the kv'var-de must overcome them with infallible conviction. The glory of culling a thousand serpents with strength alone is a speck in the eyes of The Conquering Warrior, as Zazin Kantra would usually say, and a true kv'var-de must strive to draw Paya's gaze with a kill worthy of His name.
Zazin Kantra wrote:"Oh Lord of the Hunt, The Conquering Warrior, accept this offering of flesh and grant me stronger hands, a more cunning mind, and an undying spirit of the Hunt so that I may kill in Your name. Oh Lord of the Hunt, give on to me a prey worth of Your name so that I may share in Your glory."
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)?
I want to play a detached, cunning observer who is more interested in finding worthy prey to hunt rather than straight up engaging in combat when the opportunity first presents itself. I want to be picky about my targets because I do not want to remove players from the game simply because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time, and at the same time I want to challenge players who actively wish to fight me. This does not apply to self defense, but only if the aggressor would be decent challenge to me. I also do not like running away from a good battle, and I would really like to commit to a hunt when it actually happens. The scene where the jungle predator removes the mask to face Dutch is my inspiration, along with the rooftop fight with the predalien. Once the mask comes off, it's personal.
I would never completely ally myself with the marines, unless directed by an elder or some other compelling RP reason, but I would not be against lending them a hand when I feel it may benefit the Hunt. I want to play up the uneasiness of having an alien being around, one who may have ulterior motives. I would also like, at some point, to set up an obstacle course of sorts. To see if prey can overcome my traps to be considered worthy game, or perhaps even a hunter apprentice. I do not see myself helping xenomorphs without a good reason, since the hive is often concerned with killing me, but I would not be against either staying out of their way or removing a few obstacles to bolster their strength. After all, their conflict with the soft meat would not be a great concern to me and may even enhance the Hunt.
Why should we whitelist you?
I believe keeping things fresh and interesting during a round is important, and I would play the role of a predator responsibly enough to make sure my presence is interesting to the other players without being unfair. Hopefully my presence will encourage RP in some sense, since that's often the most interesting part of the CM experience, and I am able to adapt and improvise well. I am also active in the community and I play both marine and xenomorph alike; I understand the balance of the game well enough to maintain it. And while I do have my moments of saltiness, I think I'm overall a fairly reasonable and trustworthy person. I hope you will consider whitelisting me.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
No, thankfully.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
Not to my knowledge.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?
Yes, I understand.
