Quality of life improvements
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Update attachment board, give general all round speed buff to xenos and humans stuffs really slow, improve responsiveness in interacting with items, tactical reloads reloading by using a mag on a gun, improve responsiveness when doing anything in general, seems to be a delay or somthing and having to click on things multiple times to get a response is a bit annoying, add x2 and x5 vend options to vendors
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):small improvements to increase quality of life for both sides and make the game far more fun and playable it's pretty bad right now,
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):pretty simple, dont think i need to go into much detail.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):i dont really know how this is done on the coding side of things but i'me sure you can do it.

Re: Quality of life improvements
I like the idea of tactical reloads, and the attachments guide does need upgrading. but "improve responsiveness when doing anything in general"? Do you realize what engine we are talking about here? Reducing lag in BYOND is something multiple codebases have been trying to do for years, no one is sitting at their desk saying "well I could make the lag better but eh fuck it". It's not feasible at all to just say make everything better and expect a response.

other servers seem to have no issues with responsiveness so why cant we have no issues with it, also not talking about lag either haven't had any issues with lag so far being back.

You think maybe the fact that you're playing on the only server that can reliably have 100 players on it has something to do with it? I also like how you completely skipped the details section on a post that contains 4 separate suggestions in it, and you can't even bother to spell check your posts.

Nah, I like our current speed set.. I find other servers like Goon too fast, you have no idea whats happening most of the time

i agree that others servers like goon are a bit too fast, but here it just feels too slow, mayby not by a lot, but it just doesant feel right somehow and can make combat in general a bit clunky(if it's too fast it can be bad too)

Re: Quality of life improvements
i've been on other servers that have over 100+ players, and it's still not as bad as it can be here. and while we do have a lot of combat going on here, which with explosisons and projectiles going around can be more intensive, it doesant seem to be actual lag right now, more something artificial when interacting with thingsSpanMan wrote:You think maybe the fact that you're playing on the only server that can reliably have 100 players on it has something to do with it? Re: Quality of life improvements
There was and there still is a mouse click delay. However if i recall part of the update when we got projectile update was reducing the mouse click delay. So you can click and have it register every .1 seconds or something like that (I dont remember the actual number). There are a few reasons why its there. Some codebase's either have this set to be really low or dont have it (im not sure on that part).

There is a 0.3 second delay per click, you can click 3 times per second, and a lot of things increase that temporarily, like weapons (to increase the delay to ~1 second). It's intentional because it normalizes connection rates in between clicks, especially those from distant countries or slow internet, and essential on our game because we have pretty outdated controllers.

I never noticed! I am fromm australia but doesnt that mean that the lag adds onto the delay?Abbysynth wrote:There is a 0.3 second delay per click, you can click 3 times per second, and a lot of things increase that temporarily, like weapons (to increase the delay to ~1 second). The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

Move suggestion to LOCKED and RESOLVED?
seems that this suggestion has multiple parts, but there have been improvements in the general code processing so technically this suggestion has had one part implemented.

Re: Quality of life improvements
I think a lot of this stuff has been implemented. Resolved.
