Create Standardized Coder App

Post by MasterZ01 » 09 May 2016, 09:18

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
As it stands, while our coder/s are busy working on content and constant bug patches(thanks btw). There are/have been a few apps that are left unanswered, untested for months on end. I'd suggest creating a standardized test that can be sent to coder apps to test them instead of individual tests.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
This will free up coders from having to send tests and allow head staff to sort them by simply sending the tests. This will also allow for applicants to not have to wait literal months to receive any form of test.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
-Test may have a bug fixing portion as well as asking for a specific set of code and the applicant has to create it.
-Test will be distributed by headmin, hosts and any other relevant staff.
-test will be graded at a convenient time for available dev coders.

It's extremely rare that we get new coders and we just got one new one, I don't think this is worth the effort. Besides, tailored tests are better because everyone's skill level is different.

I made this suggestion mainly because I saw Silentium(viewtopic.php?f=117&t=6337) was waiting for quite a bit and the comment from Madsnaildisease. I'm not sure whether he's been contacted but I just think it's a way to speed up apps and give you more free time. I do agree with the skills level issue, that's where the second part where you're requested to make certain code comes in. Depending on work provided in app the request can be scaled

I process applications fairly rapidly now (after a time period), and there is a standardized test. Resolved.
