Major balance oversight

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Finally add screams for people, but not only for death.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It will fix major balance oversight.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
So, one of the biggest difference between aliens and marines is that aliens ALWAYS know alive or dead condition of their hive members. More than that, when alien dies, all hive KNOWS where and who died. Even if you are using suppressors. (They are still pretty useless)

In the same time, marines have very big disadvantage, because even if you are standing on FoB duty, you can be spit down and hugged without managing to say even "Help!" because, well, in this game you can only type messages, and it takes more time than saying it. Several times I was hugged and dragged out, while having 1-2 marines in my edge of screen and they didn't even notice it. And I can't blame them, because simple opening your backpack already reduce your ability to notice what's going on on 2-3 tiles from edge of screen.

At the same time, let's be honest, most times command staff sucks and even good and competent command players don't check squad status often. Only, like, once in 5-10 minutes. Which enough for marine to be hugged, delivered to hive and start shouting "help!".

Remember we had topic about death screams? Well, it's the same idea, make that when marine got hugged OR tackled TO GROUND he will scream. Why only in these two situations? Spitting will be really annoying, because aliens spit pretty much, esspecially in hive assaults. If you make it to scream every time alien tries to tackle marine, it will be spamming scream, just like aliens spam tackle.

Believe me, it will really be good. Imagine standing in Nexus on FoB duty and suddenly hear terrifying scream from some side. You rush in there to find no one or find marine with hugger on face and alien standing next to him looking at you, like, "Wha? Just doing my damn job!". Also, big fights will become more authentic with screams.

I think, it will be good enough, if scream will be heard in screen area + 1-2 tiles.

I agree with that we should have some screams, but not for balance. Xenos are supposed to be more superior to humans. I just think this will add some more flavor to the game.

-1, Xeno's are connected via a hivemind, so the omniscience pertained around the hive makes sense. Auto generated screaming every tackle/hug from 1 - 2 tiles away is pointless in my opinion. 1-2 tiles is point blank range, if you cannot see a fellow marine getting /robusted/ that close to you I think its safe to assume you are not the best CM player.

Correct me if I am wrong its been awhile since I have seen the movies, but in the movies I am pretty sure that one seldom has time to scream when they get hugged. When they are hugged their voices are extremely muffled.

If someone came and tackled you down in a game of football you wouldn't be screaming at the top of your lungs, you would make an "oompf" sound. I believe the same should apply here.

Okay, since you didn't read, it seems, I will explain one more time. Scream can be heard by everyone who are on your screen, maybe, add 1+2 tiles to that.

You have time to scream between being tackled and facehugger clamping at your head. Well, you can easily say "help" in headset, though, not in game. That's why screaming. It's just a normal alternative.

Not every tackle, but exact time, when tackle is successful and you are falling on the ground.

I don't know man, it just doesn't make sense to me. From what I remember from the movies, they always inserted that probe thing into the mouth first, which prevented screaming. I read the tackle scream wrong, but still the tackle scream just sounds like more of an annoyance to me. If you got spit at I can understand screaming from the acid, but not a screen + a few tiles.

Would only make screams occur when face hugged and only if the player was standing.

Being tackled to the ground and hugged is fair, you have been knocked down, the wind possible taken from you, you can still talk if you're fast. This is fair.

I have been hugged by something I JUST saw, Irl I did react, but was cut off by the fact I got downed by a hugger thrown from a carrier, jumped from a locker or similiar.

tldr
If standing and face hugged, should notify those around.
Not when prone or made prone.

+1, "also theres already scream sound in SS13 so for example, when some aluem jumped on mehrin or mehrin went in critical condition automatic scream sound may be played."

I'd like to point everyone towards //n's macro thread right viewtopic.php?f=94&t=4875 there as a temporary fix. You can macro whatever text you want to a certain keybinding to say it just by pushing it.

It works for *dance too, for you xeno players out there.
