Events ideas.

Simply put, I'd love to hear some ideas for events that players or staff have had, something to spice up the general game play.

For example:


The Warriors Following.


A team of four or so humans from all different backgrounds, in this example we shall use.
Marine.
Iron Bear.
Death squad.
Cultist.
They are a unit that has banded together in their hunt for finding something, this something is the PREDATOR.
Their lives, units, histories met a predator, survived it's encounter and are now hunting it for one reason or another, be it ideology, taking the hunters life style for themselves and seeking a kinship among the aliens, worship, revenge, dominance, scientific intrigue.

let's say in this instance, they share a collective desire to join the predators hunts and kin (my original idea) and so they adopt the predators code of honour completely and while they will fight under these rules, they are secondary to making contact and proving themselves or dominating the hunter species.

Clues will be scattered around the excavation sites or structures stating findings and locations, these will point to the strange temples/crypts/chambers at random which will hold 1/4th of (lets say?) armour of a predator needed to call forth one of their kind to meet them.
They will need to move between the combat grounds, excelling at stealth and combat to survive to reach the clues and at the end, prove their worth over the predator.
After that they may do as they wish, disappearing aboard the aliens ship as clansmen or having stolen it through force.

Those hunters would all have something that would protect them from huggers to a large degree and a weapons specialty, something that they are devoted to.
For example.

The Bear could be a master of explosives, equipped only with grenades and c4 in every crevice. (not there, that's where they store the emergency vodka)

The Marine may have relied on his quick movement and gun slinging abilities, (pistols, pistols everywhere, think revolver Ocelot essentially)

The Death Squad member may have survived an encounter with the wrong kind of xeno, finding enlightenment after the robotic conditioning of WY in the hunters ways, themselves would be equipped with heavy armour and blades addorning his body, bloody close combat fighting being the true way a warrior fights.

The Cultist would carry a deadly energy blade capable of cleaving through flesh and xeno alike, although lighter armoured.

Each to their own.

Tldr, unique characters with special weapons go on a scavenger hunt throughout a warzone to summon a pred. Honour battle, hunt and violence ensue.

And this can all just be spawned in easily with a little prep work and admin oversight.

I also like the idea of a Predator picking up a worthy human to be his apprentice, not by RP but by an event.

To be honest would love to see things like this but I fear like Hunter games people are going to complain its not Marines vs Xenos and when its being done during a normal round people will be salty that this is getting more attention from admins instead of the normal round. Honestly I would love seeing more events and different styles of play

This game is based on Rp not pure death matches, adding variables adds more RP potential.
I personally want to see less, oh there's a lizard out the window watching us, lets run outside and engage, oh it defended itself, "Wildlife is hostile."

It's not meant to be about winning or losing, its about the experience getting there and if people don't appreciate that, i'd say CoD is wonderful game that fits their criteria.
If they wish to voice their concerns then let them, in the mean time I'd ask for peoples ideas, it could open some eyes.

The way CM is heading content-wise makes me think it should be more of a survival horror game than an action game. Seeing as how easy it is for humans to die nowadays, why not have a type of round where people are all civilians on the Sevastopol Station from Alien Isolation? A certain number of players are the xenos, such as 2-5 depending on player count and station size, that would break free and begin to slaughter the crew.

The round would start with the xenos, presumably Hunters or Spitters, spawning in a little chamber that looks like a science lab holding cell. Maybe with vents or windows that are relatively easy to break. Remove the ability to see creatures through walls and let the xenos stalk the station that, for whatever reason, lost power and is dark and eerily silent.

Watch as the human players either stumble to their doom or manage to kill the xenos with nothing but cheap Security level firearms or makeshift weapons. They would need to hide in lockers or run as fast as they can to survive and grasp onto another five minutes of life. People can choose to barricade themselves until the xenos kill them, traverse the dead station and try to collect supplies to survive, steal from other players and kill them if need be to get what they need, or hunt down the xenos and try to kill them off.

There could be plenty of additions in the form of third parties. PMCs coming to collect what they were supposed to get all along, killing anyone that gets in their way? A team of Predators that will stop at nothing to collect their trophies and gain valued prestige as hunters? A squad of Colonial Marines sent in to find out why an entire station suddenly went dark, only to join the crew in the horrific nightmare?

Will you become another bleeding corpse sprawled across the halls? Or will you try to fight for every gasp of breath you can take? Because as everyone knows:

Want to see Nar'Sie return, with the Colonial Marines investigating a colony/space station going dark as it descends into sacrifice laden worship of eldritch horrors.

Cultists would have their rune magic per the cult antagonist and upgraded (as in, better than their default versions) projectile deflecting, armour cleaving hell blades + magical bullet/flame/explosive resistant robes, with the goal of sacrificing enough Mahreens (and any other non-Cultists) to call forth Nar'Sie with the Hell-Join-Self ritual.

There is some structures, like daemon forgery in the caves for some reason, so we might see cult...someday (etc 999 years XD0

Pre-xeno discovery colony-
The colony on LV-624 is enjoying another normal day, and everyone is going about their jobs as usual. There's some excavation going on in the north caves under corporate orders, but there's nothing unusual about that, right? Especially not the fact that the miners aren't answering comms anymore, right?

Clean up the map to a pre-destroyed state, spawn in all normal marine players as colonists, and have them try to deal with the horror of being overrun by hideous THINGS from the dark. Could be interesting, what with the limited number of firearms an the map, and with most domes having fewer holes in them.

Yeah. I don't think it would be too difficult to implement though; buff the fuck out of Cult Robes/Sword and give the Cult all the runes by default, with the sacrifice ritual instead granting power used to summon Nar'Siethulu and fuel spells (dat resource management, dem interesting choices/tradeoffs).

Some new rune spells would be cool too, like rifts for summoning monsters hostile to everyone but Cultists, linked portals (non Cultists might be able to use it, but they'd take brain damage), a buff that fills nearby Cultists with manic zeal allowing them to move faster, deal more melee damage and ignore pain/stun (their equivalent of combat drugs) for a brief period, a spell for transferring broken bones, internal bleeding and other afflictions from one living subject to another (the Cult equivalent of surgery/cryo), or animating the dead as zombies.

A nearby USCM ship appearing and sending in some marine backup, they should be equipped with the same weaponry, maybe one spec to spice things up. This would be a way to those that died to be respawned once a bit like distress signal.

Have an unknown derelict type ship dock with Sulaco, on the lower Z level there would be aliens or it could be filled with dead aliens and rigged with motion tracker explosives.

I would also really like the begging of the colony getting infested, basically an all survivor round with all systems and wall being intact. But that would probably require a lot more work and maybe even a different map or something.

I'll drop by another time and add some more things later.

A terrorist ship with lightly armoured people with crappy guns and a machete each. They're here to burn and loot the Sulaco while the marines are busy fighting in the ground. Cm has a great Human vs Human combat system, and I feel it goes to waste when aliens ignore it completely. Hunter games does it slightly, but a proper Marines vs Terrorists thing must be added.

How about, a team of USCM special forces, MARSOC Raiders, Force Reconnaissance, get word from Sulaco Command of alien THINGS attacking marines during fights with the xenomorphs. Their objective; kill or capture the unknown creatures and retrieve their advanced technology for mother earth. Give them like B18 and heavy pulse rifles! Give them rank above SL's and the RO, but not above the Bridge Staff. And have an epic Marine vs. Yautja fight. But due to their advanced weaponry and armory, you have to be whitelisted to play as them so it's fair. How does that sound?

Heres a quick idea i had, it would require a bit of prep to work though.

A planet based scan has picked up an unknown artifact on the planet (near the caves?) and 3 different teams, all opposed to each other, must try to get it first and get it back in once piece.

Iron bears - they want the artifact just to screw over the marines, 5 of them start on the crashed ship. they have to find the artifact, get it to the ship, then hold for 10 mins. If they're successful, more bear reinforcements are flown in to overtake the sulaco

Wy-PMC - they want the artifact for nefarious purposes. 5 of them start on the wey-yu dome. They must extract the artifact to the wey-yu dome and take it back to the CL, who will send a fax. If they are successful, a death squad is spawned to evac the artifact, and are authorised to slay anyone who prevents them from doing so

USMC elite - a squad of 5 elite marine with a secret mission: get the artifact back to the sully without anyone noticing.They spawn in the nexus armoury, and If they succeed, marines would get a nice bonus like a bunch of guns or something. I dunno.

Normal marines don't know about the mission, and are not to be told. all 3 groups can murder or harm the other groups with impunity to get the artifact. Interfering marines may be disposed of, etc. They should not go running off hunting people/xenos down however.

If the xenos (somehow) manage to get control of the artifact, after a certain time of holding it it will allow upto 5 of them to instantly advance to t3.

All groups will spawn on the planet 10 mins before marines are due to drop.

Obviously this is just a basic idea and probably needs quite a bit of amendment.
