Strictly forbid Predators going to Sulaco as it is likely to cause a breach
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Basic rule n.15 states "No Intentional Breaching Walls or windows. - If you intentionally breach walls into space, expect something bad to happen."
Any Predator going to the Sully is in direct violation of this, as if the Pred dies, the explosion breaches the area, hard, walls and floor tiles.
Not to hunt every such Pred with player/admin reports I propose simply to make Sully offlimits.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Self-explanatory.
Its a no-win situation on Sully, as if the marines kill the Pred- its breached.
If Pred kills marines- they are dead, and round is prolonged due to command/cohesion loss.
If aliums kill the Pred on Sully- still a breach.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Add one line of rules.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
No coding needed, just a minor rule.

Another sure-fine way to actually damage a predator is with Grenades, that can cause a breach, or SADARs, which will cause a breach. I've noticed people doing this to kill preds for ages. +1 for game stability.
(Forums have messed up video cropping so double click the video to actually watch it)

+1 I do not like 'secret' rules that allow predators to ignore server rules just because it's been done and not punished in the past. Either this or change the predator explosion to no longer cause breaching.

Re: Strictly forbid Predators going to Sulaco as it is likely to cause a breach
But it's not intentional, I mean he's not going up there to die and explode your ship, he's doing that to protect their equipment. Either way breaching is still part of the game and can be fixed, if a bit difficult without magboots. Something like an honor code change could work, "using the suicide verb on Sulaco may cause harm to individuals that don't deserve it" or something. If a predator wishes to come up to Sulaco they should know that they might have to give up their gear in case they die. I know it sounds silly but this is a bit of an issue, just dropping in my 2 cents.

Except that Predator players are aware that they have the death explosion. Also the death explosion needs to be triggered by the Predator because I have seen Predators die without the death explosion before. This means that the Predator player does intentionally choose to trigger the explosion and breach the Sulaco. Even if it is IC I don't think they should be allowed to ignore a server rule because of IC reasons.

The bracers are, indeed, player-triggered.
Would rather simply make the Sulaco breach-proof than have Marines tromping about in predator gear.

Re: Strictly forbid Predators going to Sulaco as it is likely to cause a breach
Honestly, I don't see this as much of a problem, but if certain roles/players have "IC" reasons to cause a breach, I'd like to see this expanded on in the rules.
I was under the impression that it was disallowed for reasons of lag prevention... but if it's NOT... All 3 races have VALID IC reasons to breach.
Preds breach because "HONORHONORHONOR NO OOMAN GETS MAH WHITELIST GEAR"
Ayylmao's breach because "We can charge the plasteel/sentry rapenest... oor we can suffocate the fleshy hosts HERE and capture the ones later..."
Marines breach because "HOLY CRAP A GIANT XENO IS ONBOARD! Should I engage it with this rifle... or that ROCKET LAUNCHER..."
I would like clarification on the reasons for the "no breaching" rule.

Main reason is 'marines die'.JPR wrote: I would like clarification on the reasons for the "no breaching" rule.
Marines die=hosts die.
Not enough reachable EVA gear, etc-etc.

Re: Strictly forbid Predators going to Sulaco as it is likely to cause a breach
I personally think breaches are a rather nice addition to the everyday space life. Though, I would add a line like this in the predator rules:
"Going onboard any vessels other than the Predator's ship is allowed, but you cannot harm the vessel in any ways that would harm non-combattants. Doing so would bring great dishonour upon you, like in the previous rule."
This simple rule would simply stop breaches and make the predator less inclined to go near areas like the medbay and to sabotage the ship as a whole, in my opinion.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Predators should be allowed on Sulaco, however they should not kill mercilessly on there, maybe pick marines off one by one but not touch the staff that is unarmed. MP's would be good target as well and would bring loads of RP towards the Ship Staff. I mean they are "Yuthja" AKA Predators for a reason, who knows maybe if they want to stalk their prey and learn more about them, they would be able to do it on Sulaco?

There are two sides to this. "PREDATOR BREACH Stops marines from getting Yautja gear which is actually Yautja" or "NOT BREACH Predator dies and marines get OP Pred gear to stomp aliens". If it were my opinion I'd suicide bomb cause we have MT's for more than setting up the SM and going SSD all round

The main problem from what I have seen with pred crit bombs is that sure it gives work for MT's and the CE to do, which I can agree is fun for players involved (If they aren't SSD at the time) but 9/10 times the big issue with it is that space suits and O2 tanks aren't widely accessible across the ship let alone do standard marines and many of the other jobs actually have access to them. (Please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure this is still the case) With that in mind depending on where the breach takes place it can cause some pretty bad issues for the round in general, for instance if it happens on the upper deck then holding off an attack becomes neigh impossible due to pressure and the lack of o2 as well as even just a simple task as deploying to the planet can't be accomplished de to how shutters would be locked down and many marines trapped. To be honest pred crit bombs work but if we are going to have them on the sulaco just make it so either the tiles can't be destroyed by the explosion or make it so that the explosion isn,t powerful enough to explode the tiles or just make spacesuits and O2 tanks easily accessible by everyone and not just engineering.
On a side note, the whole pred crit bomb thing kind of rubs me the wrong way considering we have no intentional breaching as a rule yet.... We still have breaching being allowed in certain cases e.g. Preds so it just doesn't make much sense imo. Anywho this is my two pennies.(Because pennies are underrated)
