XENO UPDATE TOMORROW/TODAY

So, it's around 95% done. I wanted to do some last debugging and adjusting, but I need SLEEP.

Here's the Gist though:


1. NEW ICONS: You may have seen some of the beauty. There's a few that didn't get properly replaced that will get done soonish.

2. EVOLUTION LIMITS: There is now a specific limit to the number of tiers for ayylamos. Specifically, no more than 20% of the aliens can by T3, and no more than 40% can be T2 and T3 combined.

3. UPGRADED: Aliens will have 4 "levels". Young is the "current" version. Mature is slightly upgraded to be more durable/power. Elder is more durable/powerful than Mature. Ancient is literal DEATH IN A BOX. The Ancient Ravager is pretty much death Incarnate and the Ancient Crusher is just about totally immune to bullets. The balance, is that the upgrades take a LONG LONG LONG ass time. I wanna say the total Jelly cost for an ancient ravager/crusher is around 5500 including the evolving from runner costs. That should put the evolve timer around 90 minutes or so (I can adjust if needed).

4. UPGRADING NEGATES EVOLUTION. If you upgrade as a runner, you won't be able to evolve to a hunter/ravager/crusher. HOWEVER, an Ancient Runner will fairly strong and deadly as it gains speed, damage, health, and some armor by the time it's ancient (which is around 1400 total jelly).



Now, don't worry about getting "Ancient" every single time. Even a low level runner is death-in-a-box to a solo-marine and is only slightly less powerful than a hunter. An Elder runner, is much stronger than a young hunter, and an Ancient Runner is probably more useful than a young ravager.

Depending on how this affects gameplay, I will adjust it as well.

Some of the sprites I've seen look actually terrifying so that's a great job.

I won't lie I'm a little nervous about these ancient crushers / ravagers, but something about progress and steps forward.

Really though those fucking ayyliums are nightmare fuel, Queens got a bit of thunder thighs apparently, but I like her.

I haven't seen the sprites, so when I do, I will be fucking blown away. I hope.

Will the Alien's sprite change to match being upgraded, or is it just a name change? If it's the latter, the Marines will be really surprised when the supposedly regular runner can deflect their bullets and kill in two-three hits while moving like sonic.

I think 90 minutes is alittle ridiculous considering the normal lifespan for aliens is around .3 seconds.
No im kidding, make it like 30-60 minutes please.

There are 4 levels of upgrade. One at about 5, 15, 30, 40 for T3s.

Q_Q Here goes the ancient larva joke. At least I got to experience the admin-enhanced version two rounds before the update :)
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

So Xenos are getting even stronger? I mean, they were already stronger than a marine 1v1, and in the lore/movies, bullets shredded xenos up. I'm sure xeno players love this, but as a marine, I feel like they are basically going to get to become invincible now. A crusher becoming nigh immune to bullets? Stack on two or three? I'm skeptical of the way this is going to turn out and being able to do damage to xenos, who alrewady were about as tough as marines HP wise but did not take slowness or debuffs from injuries (like limb damage, broken bones, or randomly losing consciousness in addition to being able to regen HP). I guess I'm saying Xenos are already far stronger than mariens and immune to CC, which is a big ticket item in SS13 (crowd control), so why make them even stronger?

Even hunters, the supposed frail class, can take a respectable number of bullets before going into crit (3 shots from a magnum). Which translates to like 5-7 pulse rifle shots. Now we have to hit them what? 9-11-16 times when they get older? 30 bullets to kill a hunter? How will these stat changes scale?

Update: It's gotten to the point where sometimes even with no T3s you still can't evolve to T3

Maybe not buff amount of possible T3s but rather make it so that the Queen can restrict certain Xeno castes.

The first round of the new update had the drones evolve early meaning that the other castes couldn't evolve, so being able to say, request one Crusher and one Prae would be pretty useful.

I may be a tad bit salty here but i absolutely despise the latest update. It seems like xenos will do now is stowaway on the shuttle or burst on the ship and hide in maint or jump around in vents untill they reach a very high level and can crit in 2 to 3 bites/slashes.

Marines need a buff, i do like the fact aliens can upgrade now so it can stop a stalemate, but it always gives the aliens a upper-hand, and seeing a runner do the same damage as a ravenger is quite ridiculous if i say so myself. The fix i see to this is either give marines a magic boost or nerf out the update.

Why not drones? I'm sure not all drones will be able to evolve, especially since they evolve to T3s.
