Make weeds look even more *click* noice.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): This is just me, not sure how others see it. But weeds look good now, but what if they spread just a TINY bit off the tile, it's not for any real reason or it benefits gameplay. But it's just that the current weeds seem very square and filling of the whole tile, so to just make it look a tiny bit better what if it fades out towards the tile next to it if it is not currently filled, make it seem like a spreading weed.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Not really anything, just an idea to make the already cool looking weeds look even better.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Bit of coding, bit of spriteing

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): I'm assuming just an update of the tiles nearby them, it wouldn't have any effect besides just a general little cool spreading weed feel.

Do you understand, from a dev point of view, how much lag this would generate? It's not an option.

Having weeds dynamically generate corner tiles chews up a LOT of processing power, especially considering how quickly weeds are destroyed or spread during gameplay. It's not nearly as simple as you make it sound.

Well, if it'll only make more lag for the server than I might as well lock this idea down now and toss it we don't need more of that for sure, thanks for the heads up from a Devs point.

+1. The weeds look beautiful, but the straight edges are _really_ jarring.

+1 mmm i added my comment to the alien sprite response thread but ill add my thoughts here as well: the weeds look very, very jarring when sitting next to normal tiles. the weed tiles are very organic looking and having them cutoff in straight lines does no favors for players. using update cycles to check to see if the tiles are fully next to weeds might be too straining on the system, but if thats so, maybe it would be best to mix the old weed sprite that had transparent holes in it and the new color scheme of these weeds.

I think the suggestion is more akin to how servers like /tg/ handle weed sprite edges. Here's a example.

As you can see the edges are not sharp boxes because of the overlays.

Yeah, that looks nice, the TG ones are very nice to see cause it's less square more... rounded but not. Steelpoint has it well on point.

As long as it doesn't cause unnecessary lag, I'd like to see that.

We're working on the weeds. Resolved when we actually settle on something.
