I want a thread where new players, such as myself, can ask simple questions and get simple answers instead of having to ask the mods all the time.

Anyway, I'll probably end up asking a mentor but:

If a Facehugger gets on the face of a fellow marine, is it possible for another marine to 'assist' in the removal of the facehugger? It doesn't seem RPish but when a fucking alien is on my fellow marine's face. I feel the sudden urge to yank it off. It can't be good for his/her health.

You can attempt to remove it yes. You can do this with both hands still occupied.

In response to the above question, you can click and drag their sprite to yours, the same way you remove gear, and just click, I believe, "alien" or "facehugger" in the mask slot. You'll pull it off after a short delay.

Another question:

Is it allowed, RP wise, for a Doctor to ask for a gun? I've had awesome Marines give me one before when the Sulaco is being boarded but there are sometimes other reasons why I might want one.

For example. Sometimes when I perform abortions for marines, I fail and the larva runs around. I have no way of killing it other than running around with my saw. I prefer to have a gun in this case, which would require me to ask someone for theirs.

And if the USS Sulaco is being boarded by Aliens, sometimes I want a gun. It might not help but it makes my character feel safer to have one. Granted he doesn't have training to fire one but then again, its not hard to aim and pull the trigger.

Side note: I think the CMO should have a pistol in his locker or something if he doesn't already. He is an officer after all. I've never played CMO before though.

The section on the CMO/Doctors explains it. Basically, you only get a service pistol when the Sulaco is actively being boarded. Even in this situation, try your best to stay out of combat. Attacking aliens instead of helping the injured will likely get you job banned.

Can you put weapons on the Corporate Jet Pod and are there any available in robotics? Or do you have to get them from R&D back on the Sulaco?

Basically set it to harm intent mech fights very slowly and can only squeeze and takes time to kill its prey and no you cannot figth with the mech you might be able to put a sentry on it

Are there enough resources on the planet to build a exosuits? And are they allowed?

I'm going to guess a solid no because exosuits aren't part of the lore save for ripleys.

To build? Yes, you can build a gygax, save for the circuit boards which must be produced by Research.
There is also a corporate jet pod available in the secure dome, which can mount certain exosuit equipment, such as the RCD.

As for being allowed? Beats me. I'd asked before but never got a consistent answer.

Just move usually gets me out of it. Theres a delay though.

Generally most people opt to move away from the ladder. However in the OOC tab you may use the Cancel Camera View verb as well.

No, but who cares about blocking huggers? True skill comes from avoiding huggers.

I use a bandana instead of a helmet, helmets are for unskilled scrubs.

Robotic organs... You cant sadly only limbs.

You are correct, from what i saw, there really is no use for surgical drill, and any surgery that you need to fix someone never require it...

If I remember correctly, it's used for implanting various things in people. You can use it to "make room" for a flashlight in someone's chest for example. Never had a reason to try it yet though.
