Post by Jalleo » 16 Jun 2016, 13:49

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
What it says on the tin its immersion breaking to have the console say space instead of Signal Lost
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Reduces immersion breaking outside of marines with camera helmets getting digested
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Literally add a area on the tile where digested marines get put on called Signal Lost
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
See above

Imagine if an Cl saw this and wanted marines to get one as an "infinite trash compactor"

You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have that read out for the caves and planet building interiors.

+1. Honestly, just changing the code for the BO's comm console to say signal lost instead of space would be great.

The caves? Yes. But the buildings? C'mon, the Marines would have strong enough sensors to go through that, they don't just fight in big open areas, they're used in urban and counterterrorist missions too, where they'll often be inside of buildings.

The idea is that they're thick concrete domes. Plus, anyone with "signal lost" could be meta'd that they've been eaten.

rebumping this. Even having a small area in the space map be sectioned off and renamed "signal lost" would be a nice way to clear out the random "hes in space?" information officers get when looking at digested marines.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.

It is really weird when you check your camera and discover a marine floating among dozens of dead monkies in space for no reason.. It is very weird indeed..

They're not talking about just being in ayylamayo stomachs, they're talking about post-dissolved in stomach. So instead of marines being in "Space" they're listed as "Signal Lost". Its a small immersion thing that requires a small room to be added called "Signal Lost" not something major like figuring out when triggers need to be applied for the tracking to work or not.

*Cough* Diggested marines gonna need to be a thing for this to happen now.
Anyway, I suggest that if anything is 'digested' it still happens. (Gibber and etc)
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.
