Less flashlights in vendors

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Cut down the number of flashlights you can dispense in the prep room

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It is more lore friendly when Marines drop flares everywhere around them rather than flashlights. Aliens will also not have to worry about light sources that never burn out.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): It's a gimmicky when there are no practical reasons to take along flares. While there are less flashlights in vendors than flares, there are enough to always ensure there are plenty in the vendors even after an hour of gameplay. Using only flares adds to the immersion of the planet when marines land on the land 30 minutes into the game to find discarded used flares, versus landing on a brightly lit area filled with flashlights scattered all about.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Make flashlights in vendors a quarter of what it currently is

+1 Agreed, this will encourage (force maybe?) marines to use a far superior light source and gives out the very subtle immersion.

Flares would be good, but they have too many downsides: Too few, given they run out faster than you can say "oh shit my flare ran out"

Literally no reason to take them along right now.
At the very least, they would have to come in boxes.

That doesn't sound like a valid point, since it is easily change by mere numbers (in the code/properties of an object)

However, the real downside as of now is the lack of a compact storage to store those cheeky flares. I wonder how long will it take for such technology to arise?

It is a valid point now. I'll obviously revise it WHEN AND IF the number is changed.

-1 I'd say +1 to this as SOON as we get flareboxes. Hauling down multiple flares is a bitch to do right now, until we get QoL upgrade for popping out flare boxes, then you can count me in on reducing the amount of flashlights in vendors.

flares give more brightness than flashlighs, and you get pinned down for meta if you use a ton of lights during first drop due to the marines believing it's just a small stint that shouldntt be permanent

Do you know how dark it is on first drop? With the possible outcome of first contact soon to rekt you?

Second, meta or not, your going to need a lot of lights for the upcoming light slashings.

just use flares, i do and it's no problemo. flares are love flares are life.
