Are you familiar with the Predator Code of Honour (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=2693)?: Yes.
However, I will admit that there are still some situations where I am unsure what actions honour would permit (That said, when in doubt, don't use the plasma caster).
Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predator’s background):
► Show Spoiler
The young hunter set foot upon a strange new world, the sounds of the dto before him echoing all around, a series of clicks echoing within. It was the day of his trial: the kiande amedha chiva. Three mei’hswei would seek kiande amedha.
Unnamed by the rites of their clan. Unblooded by the rites of their species. They would find honour.
Or they would find death.
…
…
You must be swift, as the Vy’drach.
From branch to branch, tree to tree, the young hunter navigated the dto. With great leaps and heavy landings, the predator flew through the jungle as a bird through the air, his momentum carrying him ever onward, fuelled by the vigour of the young and eager.
You must be cunning, as the Bisor.
A broken twig. Tracks through the mud. A scent upon the wind.
The young hunter knelt upon the ground, examining the trail of his prey. It was close, he knew, for it could not outpace him. And it could not hide from him. Blood would be his. A Name would be his. It was only a matter of time.
You must be strong, as the Pifc-nah’.
A temple of his kin, ancient and venerable. Fitting, the hunter thought, that the trail should lead here. The serpent’s scent was strong in the air.
The beast had fled from him, but he was swifter. The beast had hid from him, but he was smarter. And now the beast would fight him, and he would be stronger. Even the temple’s sealed door would not bar him for long.
You must be silent, as the Kjuhte.
Silent.
Too late did the young blood realize his mistake, his footsteps echoing through the temple’s hallowed halls. Too slow did he turn to face the darkness closing behind him. And too strong was the serpent, razor talons rending flesh from bone in the face of the youngling’s guard.
A lucky strike from his dah’kte saw the beast’s tail severed, the young blood’s weapon quickly rendered useless in the wake of the creature’s acidic ichor. Decades of training saw his foe thrown against the temple walls, kiande amedha’s own strength used against it. A lifetime of arrogance saw the warrior gloat in his victory, his ceremonial blade drawn as he approached his defeated foe… The beast rose.
And too quickly for the young hunter, the serpent was upon him.
In but an instant, the young hunter found himself toppled, his blade cluttering uselessly away. In but a moment, the serpent’s face neared his, it’s lethal inner-jaws poised to strike a fatal blow. And in but a second, the downed yautja knew, his hunt would end.
You must be fierce, as the Quatza-Rij.
The words of the Master rang clear through his mind as the young hunter stared death in the face.
He was not swift, for the serpent was swifter.
He was not cunning, for the beast had outwitted him.
He was not strong, for his wounds sapped his strength.
He was not silent, for the trap had been sprung.
And he was no longer the hunter. He was the prey.
…
…
But he was still fierce.
With a hiss and a roar, the wounded yautja threw himself at the serpent, the savagery of the sudden outburst catching even kiande amedha off-guard. Though claws would shred and blood would burn, momentum favoured the unblooded's charge as the serpent was crushed against the temple walls, a chitinous heap upon the floor soon after.
Dazed, but not dead, the beast rose once more, yet this time the warrior rose faster. A hammer blow brought the serpent’s head low; a second following soon after. Strike after strike rained upon the beast’s skull, until in a rain of acidic ichor the young blood smote the serpent into the temple stones, and the creature was no more.
There would be no trophy from this one, its skull wrenched asunder. The creature’s body lay heaped upon the ground, battered and broken, a testament to the ferocity of the young hunter. Yet even now the beast sought to claim victory in death: its corrosive ichor continuing to feast upon the flesh of the young warrior.
The young yautja collapsed; exhausted yet free of pain even as the acrid stench of his own corroding flesh filled the air. Cetanu would come for him, he knew, and he had not the strength to fight her. Even as dhi’ki-de sought to claim him, a growl escaped his throat. Then another. And another. Laughter.
If he would die here, so be it. But he would die with honour. He would die bloodied. He would die with a Name.
…
…
The hunter set foot upon a strange new world, the sounds of the dto before him echoing through him; within him. A deep rumble loosed itself from the warrior’s chest as he set forth, footfalls silent as the grave. He bore many scars, this one, for one so young in the eyes of many. The others marked him kha’bj-te: reckless, a fool. Yet he was no fool.
Cetanu had spared him that fateful hunt, his own lifeblood halting the serpent’s venom. Yet alone and wounded, the hunter became the hunted.
Injured, he grew silent.
Weakened, he grew cunning.
Hounded, he grew swift.
Ferocious, he grew strong.
He was no fool. He was prey. And he sought a predator.
The predator of predators: D’yeka. The perfect prey.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)?:
As with many of the other predator applicants, my aim is not to disrupt the flow of a round, but attempt to bring a new element to the marine-xeno conflict all the same. Ultimately, remaining at a distance and observing would provide ample opportunities to spot which characters would be suitable for further interaction, while also allowing one to generate additional round ambience.
To Shatterbones, the ultimate prey is the predator. He wishes to hunt that which also hunts him, in a never-ending quest to either become the ultimate hunter, or to succumb to it. How this might fully develop in-game I can’t guarantee, though I’m sure there would be no shortage of eager hunters, be they marine or xeno in nature. Or perhaps even students, who might one day join his hunt, be it as brothers or as challengers…
Why should we whitelist you?: I am aware that my account does not have a great deal of activity associated with it in spite of the length of time it has been active. And so I’m not hoping to get into the whitelist on the basis of being exceptionally well-known amongst the community, but rather on the basis of simple, honest intentions. If accepted, my goal is simply to play my small part in the larger round in an effort to bring something different to the usual rounds. Whether it is through passive, ambient roleplay or through combat itself, I’d just like to contribute to making the round fun for those with whom I am involved in an attempt to create a memorable experience.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?: No. Though I do believe I had a note added within the last month following a mishap with copy-paste.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?: None to my knowledge.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honour?: I do.
