The meeting will be on the Discord


Attending (List will expand throughout the day):

This will be a "Town hall" going for probably 1 or 2 hours. During which, you will be able to post questions to any of the attending staff. The event will have the audio recorded, and all answered questions will have a timestamp edited into their post after the soundfile is published. The goal, will be to address concerns and questions that the CM community has.


Procedure:
A special "Town Hall" voice channel will be made in the Discord.
Anyone who is not a staff member will be muted. You will be unmuted to ask your question, then remuted (to minimize craziness).
We will go in order of the posts in THIS THREAD (which will unlock 30 minutes before the meeting).
Questions that violate the rules, will be deleted, and if you ask a different question that what you post, you will not be allowed to ask another question.
If you have a question for a specific staff member, make sure their name is in your post.


Rules:
1. Questions can be about CM or SS13 only. Nothing about the personal lives/opinions of any of the attending staff on other topics.
2. Questions can NOT be about personal matters that pertain to players or staff members (such as a specific persons ban or notes)
3. Questions can NOT involve the current round
4. Duplicate questions will most likely be skipped if there is nothing additional to add. If someone else has your question, you can edit your post to change it.
5. Be RESPECTFUL and CIVIL.


UPDATE: One question per post please. If you have multiple questions, make multiple posts so we don't get stuck on one person and others have a chance.

Are there any plans to implement a system where maps will be rotated or voted on? If so how will it work?

What is the plan regarding the long foretold Research update? How goes progress, and is there an ETA, or is it still just planned at this point in time.

Bonus Question!: I remember hearing talk of including non-combat synths to the Sulaco in limited numbers. Was that only player speculation, or is that going to be a thing, possibly, as well?

Hello and thank you for reading this glorious staff overlords! Today, if I'm allowed, I have a couple of specific questions. Thanks!


1.) Janitors; add in Janitors, make it a specific rank. Let's say that your character received disciplinary action. You were demoted to PVT-SRGT (Up to you, open to suggestions). But it wasn't TOO severe since you were posted on a brand new USCMC ship! Since I see trash around all the time, it annoys me, plus I think it could lead to interesting RP experiences!

2.) Make it clear to marines that Standards can't use B18 armor. It takes years of training to use everything from a smartgun to a SADAR, and it angers me that marines will just loot their Specialist's bodies and take equipment not meant for them. Regulation is regulation, and I don't think your character just learned a year's worth of training in the single moment your Sergeant died.

3.) Harsher punishment for stealing Donor Items. I see people stealing Omega Squad armor all the time, and that REALLY grinds my gears. Did you just fork over your money to support a fun community? No, you just shot that marine in a mutiny and now you're wearing items you don't deserve. That shit is fucking stupid, and since people won't stop something should be done.

4.) Finally, add a tutorial for newer players to CM. This last round, the one where MOTHER chanted ALOHA SNACKBAR and sent all of us to Hell, I had to show two new players how to do almost everything. Thankfully they were all in my squad.

Will Sentinels get Acid Spit and better plasma regen when upgrading so they're at least as useful as an Ancient Runner? This is important since getting locked in as a T1 is pretty likely from the mid-game onwards.

Also, why not let Drones upgrade, while letting them evolve into Queens (and only Queens) as needed (they would not retain their upgrades)?

Along with converting CM to 510, will the server have the same zero lag speed as with other regular SS13 servers? If so, will some mechanics be altered to go with the fast paced action?

I know there have been some ups and downs in regards to the amount of devs we've had lately. Are we open to more devs currently, specifically coders? There was a big waiting period before the last "batch" of applications were accepted, so I wasn't sure.

A thing I wanted to really ask about is if the Xeno Upgrades and if we will be seeing more variating upgrades, tweaks, any buffs or nerfs based around certain upgrades. Earlier this morning I spent a whopping ballbreaking 5 hours getting to Ancient Empress and upon recieving that "You are the omega and the Alpha, the beginning and the end" I was super excited, but 5 marines with basic M41A rounds almost critted me, including the rounds that I blocked. I've seen an Elite Crusher that is stronger than an ancient Empress, it feels very anti-climactic. Will you be considering lowering the Empress' required jelly? It seems very silly to wait 3200 jelly, especially since a mature ravager can one-hit decap. However an ancient empress cant even 2 hit decap. Seems very annoying and I wanted to know your opinion on it.

I know its in the suggestions but, i gotta ask. Is there plans of making the SULACO support roles more interactive during the mid game? ( MP's and Survivors in paticular, engineering and cargo secondary) The mid game to late game can be very dull for these classes, forcing them to make their own " entertainment" or trying very hard to really make a direct impact on the ground against the xenos. Maybe expand on ideas of enhancing FOB's or Off ship "adventures".
