Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Oo - kay, so we all know that resin cuffs and hand chewing are extremely controversial. As the self-appointed Henry Clay of this community I've taken it upon myself to appease both sides.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Removing_salt.bmp
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): So in order to fix this whole thing, we need to provide some incentive to stop marines from chewing their hands off to escape the cuffs and then accidentally dying. My proposal is this:
Let hand chewing remove cuffs... but DOUBLE the time it takes to get out of a nest. You're not gonna work your way free of a chest-mounted meatsnake nursery with one functional hand and an EXTREMELY painful wound that you're losing blood from; it just doesn't work that way. You could even remove the ability to break out completely and instead add a message such as: "Your injury prevents you from escaping the sticky resin!"
This way, if you chew your wrist, you would have to rely on being nested next to a robust fellow marine.
Now I know that you're wondering how the hell this balances things. But having two functional hands needs to count for something, right? So when you do break out, the game automatically has you start to break out of your cuffs. If your hands are intact, you take far less time to remove both pairs of cuffs. Alternately, you could shorten the time to escape the nest and leave cuffs unaltered.
The bottom line: cuffs are for transporting marines and not for keeping sentinels from their job. However, hand chewing is rude and shouldn't have much more than a situational purpose.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Code

Seriously, can we just remove the cuffs and make bursting much faster? its not fun and ridiclously boring to sit in a nest for 10 minutes, awaiting to either manage to kill yourself, escape (0.1% chance) or burst. (yes i know about the ghost command, but i have a question for you, how often do unexperienced marines use it?)

Did you read the rest? If you don't chew your nested or cuffed time would be drastically shortened. We're aiming to gradually phase hand chewing out of the equation here.MrJJJ wrote: NO

I did, and so? the chance is still 0.1%, this is not gonna balance anything, just make it more frustrating as you break out 5 times and STILL haven't even achieved anythingMonoo wrote: Did you read the rest? Apop made changes to handchewing, so resolved for now.
