Full name: Vasilia Nikolayevna Kopchek
Nickname(s): Kops, Koppy, Vas
Age: 31
Birth date:
Gender: Female
Position: Combat Medic
Notable traits: Utterly dedicated to the marines that fall under her care. Sloppy and apathetic with anything that doesn't effect her 'patients'. Lightly armed by Marine standards, her only allowance for personal pleasure in the field is a USCM-issued metal flask.
Persona: Grimly cynical about military life, it can be said the Vasilia's only real passion is caring for injured on the battlefield. Difficult to excite, if without a marine in immediate danger is usually willing to offer a wry comment about the situation. Extremely meticulous in packing her medical supplies before a mission, and usually seen rushing about in the Medical Bay mixing up beakers of hypospray refills and throwing out the standard contents of medical containers for her own personal loadouts of injectors and pills, Vasilia's only interactions with her fellow Marines are usually that of a harried woman of few words, leaning over them to bandage a wound, salve a burn, or force a dizzying array of chemicals into their body. In the rare moments where there's no one to care for and nothing else to prepare for, one finds a
History: Third child of a military family, Vasilia's father was a commissioned officer in the Army with a long ancestral tradition of service. Brought up in a functional household with expectations of a military career, Vasilia had an orderly childhood with middling grades, joining the United States Colonial Marine Corps at eighteen. During over a decade of service, an early penchant for stocking gauze and basic tricordrazine injectors in her backpack eventually led her to become an official medic, gladly trading out her service rifle for a bicardine injector, a bottle of tramadol pills, and too many more medical devices to count.
Her long service has deeply wounded her, something she would never admit - but at thirty-one, and matured at an early age by combat, Vasilia has found a contented niche for her life. Saving lives without much regard for where 'her' marines are fighting, or why, her posting to the USS Sulaco is not notable for her.
Relations:
Chloe 'Loco' Lacara - A great medic and friend, noticing Loco sharing the hellish space of a casualty station makes Vas feel better about the wounded she can't get to.
Noelle Walker - Another highly competent medic, with a razor wit that never fails to liven up squad comms.
Ryan Cook - They've been through hell together, though Vas can't remember the specifics. Something about crabs...
Paul 'Grunt' Lorenz - A good guy, despite being a redshirt.
Memories from the Sulaco...
Likes: Kepler Crisps, Pork MREs, saving lives - in her words, the USCM has hijacked her maternal instinct.
Dislikes: IB, Buckshot, not sharing her urgency with the wounded.
Strengths: Dedication to the wounded is evident in every facet of her work. She's a competent medic with numerous tricks up her sleeve for storing and using medical supplies, and can be utterly suicidal when in comes to the safety of her 'patients'.
Weaknesses: Her passion for saving lives often gets her into trouble, and outside of marines' welfare, Vasilia is completely unenthusiastic to take part in combat. Partly due to recognizing her value is placed firmly behind the front lines, but she shies away from fighting in a distinctly un-Marine like manner.
