Fun fact: The most moto people in the fleet were always boots. Kinda dudes with high-and-tights and walked around in boots all the time off-post.
Stop being a boot.

Re: learn our lingo boot!
I think a fantastic term for CM would be SNAFU. Situation Normal, All Fucked Up.
Desk Jockey, POG, REMF, Pencil Pusher = Anyone sitting comfy in a desk while other people are out dying.
I actually went out of my way to look up terminology people could use for the Colonial Marines specifically so see below.

Re: learn our lingo boot!
Wait, did you really have a recruit do that? I mean, we had one who spit on out RDC's boots (to get kicked out), and another who thought being assigned to ships staff meant they'd be on a SHIP, but punching yourself? Wow.TotalAnarchy wrote:my fav in boot was beat your face, my Senior DI said that to some kid and he punched himself in the face. Beat your face means do push ups as IT.

Kevlar - is actually referring to helmets, as most armor consists of plates of metal and stuff. And helmets are usually made of Kevlar, so its light on your head but tough on bullets

Re: learn our lingo boot!
Ehhhh... Someone sent me a link to this citing it as a joke, so I figured I'd correct some/most of it...
Here's the fixes based on my years in the military and combat experience:
Hua (pronounced HOO-AH) - Us Army Battle Cry
Hoorah (Pronouced Who-Rah)- US Cavalry Battle Cry
CLEARED hot - 2 definitions: Over the radio, it's used to alert incoming air support they are clear to drop Ordinance. To a person on the ground it means you are clear to fire your weapon.
Example:
Private: "Target approaching 200 meters north"
Sgt: "Clear Hot"
Private: *gunfire*
IBA - Individual Body Armor - used to refer to the chest armor when not calling it a vest.
1. A "Barracks Rat" is a service member who is unable to return to regular life outside of the military, due to fear or financial inability
2. A civilian female who hangs out outside barracks on Fridays looking for easy hook-ups. No-one knows how she gets on base, but everyone knows she's a slut and usually has hepatitis.
Here's some you missed:
MARINE = Muscles Are Required, Intelligence Not Expected
MARINE = My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment
Jarhead = Marine
High Speed, Low Drag - Someone who 'appears' to be prepared for any possible situation because they carry an incredible amount of excess equipment. Also: A brand new fancy piece of equipment that is designed to make something easier, but probably won't.
Squared Away - Someone who is ACTUALLY prepared for the situation at hand or situation that is coming up.
Butterbar = 2nd Lieutenant or Ensign, comes from the fact that they are the lowest ranking officer and their rank is a gold bar. Used typically as an insult due to their extreme levels of incompetence.
Here's the fixes based on my years in the military and combat experience:
Oorah is the battle cry of hte USMC. The others, are various other branches/departments of service:Oorah = Battle Cry of the Corp, it's not hoorah or hooyah, use Oorah when you are in full motivation.
Hua (pronounced HOO-AH) - Us Army Battle Cry
Hoorah (Pronouced Who-Rah)- US Cavalry Battle Cry
Boot -An insult used to describe a brand new graduate of boot camp who has no real knowledge of how things work in the actual military. Also used when someone is acting stupid or functioning off of their basic training/boot camp knowledge and not the "how things are done" knowledge.Boot = THIS IS THE WORST INSULTE IN ALL OF THE MARINES, this is the most fucked insult, a boot is a new marine, who's never been deployed and don't know his shit.
Clear Hot - This is either brand new, or someone was screwing with you, I've never heard it in my entire time in from the Army nor Marines. Also, I checked with Marine veterans at my school and none of the ones I know have heard of it used this way. However, there are 2 existing uses of a similar term:Clear hot = sure, let's do this, alright.
CLEARED hot - 2 definitions: Over the radio, it's used to alert incoming air support they are clear to drop Ordinance. To a person on the ground it means you are clear to fire your weapon.
Example:
Private: "Target approaching 200 meters north"
Sgt: "Clear Hot"
Private: *gunfire*
A "Suzie Rottencrotch" is a specific reference to a any woman that feeds off a USMC paycheck from her significant other (Wives, girlfriends, etc). They are known to be incredible whores and prey on the fresh virgin boots who will fall in love with them after their first time. Se also: Dependapotamus, Barracks Bunny, Barracks Cougar..Suzie = your girlfriend back home.
Jody - The man who is enjoying all the benefits you have given up while you are in boot, deployed, or overseas. Comes from a WWII era Jazz Song about Joe the Grinder (Changed to Joe D Grinder, and eventually Jody) who was someone who stole the wives/girlfriends of Army soldiers and inmates. It was popularized across all branches of the Military.Jodie =the man railing your GF while you are on deployment
A Navy Sailor who works as a glorified nurse in hospitals stateside (Blue Corpsmen) or a battlefield medic with a marine unit (Green Corpsmen). Typically, a Corpsman with combat experience or exceptional skill is called 'Doc'. The big difference between a Corpsman and a Medic is the training. All Corpsman have basic medical training, but some have EMT training and higher levels of medical training. All Medics have EMT equalivent levels of training as a minimum. Additionally, Medics are protected by the Geneva Convention and bound to provide medical treatment to both friendly forces and captured enemy forces, Corpsmen are not, depending on their training level.Corpsman = another name for "medic" because it's not really called "medic"
M41A MK2 or other weapons - A Rifle or weapon. A 'Gun' refers to either a light/heavy machine-gun or a piece of artillery.M41A MK2, or any other one you pick = a weapon you never call it s gun, it's a weapon it's made to kill.
Kevlar - Refers to the helmet of your army only. Also called a "Brain bucket".Kevlar = chest plate armor
IBA - Individual Body Armor - used to refer to the chest armor when not calling it a vest.
Turtle Fucking - Slapping two uncolored (green by default) Kevlar helmets together. Named so, not because of the sound, but because it looks like 2 turtles fucking. Not really used much outside Basic/Boot anymore because everyone had Tan or Digital Helmets overseas.Turtle fucking = slapping two helmets against one other making a sound like turtles fucking.
Actually called "Air Force Mittens" by anyone who isn't jealous of the Army. Used to show disdain of the Air Force by pretty much everyone as they by far the easiest military branch to be in.Army gloves = hands in your pockets, like your doing nothing. Your useless.
Hurt Locker - Slang/radiospeak for a severe injuryHurt locker = anything that's hurt or down.
POG = Person other than Grunt. Used as a slang term to define non-Combat Arms positions.POG = person other then grunt, this is an insult used against everyone not a marine headed to fight.
MP assigned to escort prisoners or captivesBrig chaser = MP
Two definitions here actually:Barracks rat = fat lazy marine, dosent like to do much but chill in his rack
While Chesty was a badass marine, the new marine god is General James Mattis. It was him and his marines, alongside the Army's 3rd Infantry Division who raced to see who could capture more of Baghdad, and when Fallujah was needing leveling he was the only one who could do it. He was the one destined to slay ISIS before being forced into retirement.Chesty Puller = THE MOST BADASS MARINE THERE HAS EVER BEEN!!!! HE IS A GOD AND WILL BE VIEWED AS SUCH!
A superior branch capable of spelling 'Aren't Correctly.Army = arnt ready for marines yet.
Here's some you missed:
MARINE = Muscles Are Required, Intelligence Not Expected
MARINE = My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment
Jarhead = Marine
High Speed, Low Drag - Someone who 'appears' to be prepared for any possible situation because they carry an incredible amount of excess equipment. Also: A brand new fancy piece of equipment that is designed to make something easier, but probably won't.

The most boot statement I have read in many years.Clear hot grunt! Now know jarhead, grab your god damn dazy dukes and go fasters you barracks rat, company run you boot, I better not see any fuckin army gloves there. Clear hot kill.
