SMG starts with one less round

Post by MrJJJ » 27 Jul 2016, 02:11

Bug Description: If you spawn a SMG from the vendor, it will have 34 rounds in it, instead of 35
https://gyazo.com/19c1890f40e9d7254a05f4fcfa7932e1

Steps to reproduce:
1. Equip yourself and grab a SMG
2. Examine the SMG
3. Be confused why is there 34 instead of 35
4. Try ejecting the magazine and you find out it does have 34 out of 35 ammo...

Realistically, some weapons have a dummy round at the bottom of the magazine to hold back the bolt. Like most people think the M16's in Nam had 20 rounds a clip, when in reality they only had 19. (or so I've been told by my father who is ex-military) Not sure if this is intended or not.

Bolt = Receiver, some are automatic/semiautomatic pushed back by the force of the bullet, others are bolt action.

Then why when i unload the clip, it says 34 out of 35, and when i order a new one, it has 35 out of 35, meaning i get to fire a extra bullet?

The M16 used to have the tendency to jam if the magazine was fully loaded, hence it became common practice to down load to 18 or 19 rounds.

In regards to OP, could it be possible that 1 round is simply chambered and therefor not on the counter? I'm not 100% on this, but I feel that the pulse rifle's mag also states there are only 29 rounds, instead of 30.

Thank you for clarifying that, I really appreciate it.

It does, but when you get a new magazine, its full, instead of missing 1 bullet

A round is chambered. Same goes for all other weapons from the vendor, besides the shotgun. Means you can carry extra rounds if you toss another mag in. Good thing for sidearms.

Also, I have literally never heard of putting dummy rounds in clipazines instead of gatteries. Sounds like an odd thing.

Yeah, this isn't a bug.
