d20
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
The d20 is an icosahedron with numbers on each side ranging between 1 to 20, which can be tossed onto a surface to simulate a random generation of numbers. The d20 item in Space Station 13 appears red, with a limited amount of sides seen as it is a 2-dimensional object that cannot demonstrate the 3-dimensional attributes of the icosahedron. This object is often used in board games and casinos, using it's function to generate a number with equal chance to other numbers to serve it's own purpose. The Space Station 13 version of the die can be used for the same reason.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
The d20 can be used to maximize marine morale, by giving them an aesthetically pleasing view of miscellaneous objects, and allowing them to entertain themselves with the d20. In addition, it would also fill the planetside with more objects, giving it a "this place once had normal people who enjoyed dice-rolling" air to it.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
It works as it already works in the game, as it is already an item, and only needs to be implemented in the map itself.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Put it on a table, in the library maybe. Stick it somewhere that it should be.

Re: d20
The sad part is that I'd make a remove-it suggestion now... Since it's already implemented in SS13 baystation code.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

What's wrong with it being in the SS13 baystation code? I'm just asking for it to be implemented in the map.Sarah_U. wrote:The sad part is that I'd make a remove-it suggestion now... Since it's already implemented in SS13 baystation code.

Re: d20
It already IS in the map: Planet -> Male Dorms. Also, anything to do with importing from outside CM code is autodenied.
Edit: Also, CM doesn't have a library. Get your servers straight.

I believe you are thinking of the old map. The new map, Ice Colony, has an area called Library and no area called Male Dorms. Thorough searches for a D20 and admin PMs have both come up empty. Also, this isn't "importing something from outside CM code", as it is already in the code.Azmodan412 wrote:It already IS in the map: Planet -> Male Dorms. Not at all, it's just adding an object to the map. That's not importing.Azmodan412 wrote: 'Already implimented in SS13 baycode'. Its pretty much importing.

Not high on ANYONE'S priorities anyway, and the old map is the original. Ice is just a passing trend.StraightEyeForTheQueerGuy wrote: Not at all, it's just adding an object to the map. That's not importing.

Doesn't matter if it's the original, he's talking about Ice Colony. And it should be at the top of everyone's priority list, the d20 is vital to the game.Azmodan412 wrote: Not high on ANYONE'S priorities anyway, and the old map is the original. Ice is just a passing trend.

Re: d20
+1, and im serious.
edit: keep the dice bag somewhere secret-ish, maybe on the colony, or maybe in the lower engine room storage bay because, lets face it, engineers are geeks.
dont be a nerd whistle, be a geek and let us play dark heresy. actually, i propose we add a dice bag which holds 2x d6, 2x d10, 2xd4, and 2xd20. Holy cow, the MP's could play real fake life paronia, and beat up all the crew staff for Mother. Trouble Shooters for the win. please let this go through.Whistle wrote:Please give me the real reason why you want this added.

Re: d20
I have never been so offended in my entire life. It is not a troll suggestion, but in fact, a legitimate suggestion. I want to see the d20 implemented in the ice colony map, why is that so bad? Do you have some personal vendetta against d20, dice in general, or 3-dimensional geometric shapes? Or just the icosahedron in general? Regardless, put your differences aside for the sake of others, and the betterment of the ice colony map.Sarah_U. wrote:TBH it's not importing, but it is a very stupid TROLL SUGGESTION <3

Re: d20
-1 Seems quite useless rather than quite a nice little nicknack, but I see this is not necessary to be posted about. With all honesty don't even remember the last time somebody actually used the d20, in the regular map. So ima stand at -1 and still stand here. I quite agree with @Sarah_U's comment, I do see this more of a troll suggestion. You literally joined today just to post this or so happens to be your first post once you joined, I am not judging but by looking at this, feels like a suggestion in which isn't serious or rather a suggestion I see won't be taken serious due to its topic.

Re: d20
Personally, I feel that since my incentive to sign up for a forum account was purely driven by the lack of a d20 on the ice colony map, that should make you feel like the suggestion is even more serious.Shyguychizzy wrote:-1 Seems quite useless rather than quite a nice little nicknack, but I see this is not necessary to be posted about. Re: d20
How about this: I roll a d20. If it lands on an even number, I'll add this. If it doesn't, I ignore this thread for a month?
Edit: On a second thought, it should be rolled by a neutral party.

He meant it's already in game. CM is based off Bay Station from 2012.'Already implimented in SS13 baycode'
I'm sick with playing blackjack, get me my d20 so I can play DnD.
Reminds me of one round where we had 6 people playing custom RP system in library, Secs thought we were cultists and tried to raid us with 2 EDs and about 8 armed guys. We ended up burning em on in their own death camp and got back to game.
